Thanks 8)

That was the part now and then hitting speedbums. Now it is even flatter than te oem flat style one with bigger internal square surface to meet the 60mm internal bore. Think it moved up about 1cm. That wil do the trick for me.

What's that square box behind the flex tubes? Looks like the secondary tuning is totally lost.

Looks like a reinforcement plate and/or heatshield.

The result looks superb; beautiful finish. You should definitely be proud.

Now, make me one.

Mats,

Can you elaborate? Is it due to the absorption material and muffler expansion chamber causing problem for the secondary tuning?

Mats/75evo,

I don't believe that the rectangular section behind the flex connections has a chamber. I agree with shiny that it's just a probable heat shield.

Yep. Heat shield for donut and gear linkage cover protection.

Yeah you're right MD. In the US we have a catalytic converter around that area and the factory put a heat shield screwed onto the 2 frame rails.

Now that break in period is over the fun part starts again :D .

One thing i noticed is that boost is 0.3bar lower. I did a mild port job and have a more efficient waterintercooler radiator.
But i dont think that where the 0.3 bar went....
What i also set different was the cam timing. First the inlet valve was set at 1.75mm (by mistake)at TDC and now it is set at the spec of the camshaft wich is 1.85 mm. Overlap is the same on a SOHC engine. But i think the boost flush is different because of piston position.(more flush) and less cylinder filling.

I also think there is a big powerdrop. But the rebuilt took a long time an my daily car now has 300nm instead of 250nm so i might be geussing.

Lower boost with a rootsblower means less intake air temp so thats nice. But to much cylinder flush seems also bad to me..... :?

What would be best for power output.

And the piston is still moving upwards till inletvalve opens at 1.85mm tdc, then direction changes and it begins sucking in air. Until 1.85mm all air is pushed out. Also if you retard cam timing more there is more room in the combustion chamer wich i guess creates more turbulance , so less flush and more boost... :?
I think a small retard in cam timing is good on a sohc engine with a charger.

Lets play with cam timing for the real answer. Set it one dergree retarted.
No testdrive today because some parts for the swaybar did not arrive yet...

When i retarded cam timing AFR dropped. So more air stays in the combustion chamber :)
Only boost levels didn't rise.. I looked at everything. I now think the prot job and intake port cleaning did it. there was much carbon depossit... Can't see any other reason now.

The car also feels quicker with the new cam timing. And yesterday a porsche cyanne s turbo lost the battle. It has 570hp and 800nm of torque but is 2200 kg. If i convert it to my 1300kg is's about 330hp and 460nm but i was quicker and stopped the fight at 240km/h

Sounds nice! how much boost are you running? Also, what ECU setup do you have? i'm installing MS3 now on my Giulie, it's currently running N/A but i'm going to put the supercharger soon, I already have the kit, just need the time to do it now...

Runnig at 0.55 bar with high lift cams and a verry efficient water intercooler. Saw my last log. It was around 8 degcelcius outside and air intake was 26 degrees

Running msII extra with DIS. Can provide you startup maps!
