Are any of the wiring harnesses from the ECM interchangeable between the years? I have an '81 US spec GTV6 and need a new wiring harness( mice ate all the wires) I can get my hands on an '83 harness but I have no idea if it will work.

If is cheap, get it . Most of the major leads should be the same such as injectors, power, temp sensor. few changes may include thermo time sensor and relay box in corner of engine bay.
peel back the tape and check the lead colors at the ECU plug. any differences need to track down.
get yourself an 83 and 81 owners manual (has wiring dgms)
