Fuel injectors leaking

Hi,

I have a stock '86 GTV6 and it appears that the fuel injectors are leaking
(bad consumption, whiteish smoke when cold, can smell fuel).

Are these easy to replace? Will I still be able to get injectors that will fit?
Will the average person be able to do this or should it be taken to an injector expert?

Any suggestions or hints would be appreciated.

Thanks

Jason

Hi Jason, I would look at the small hoses that run from the injector rail to the injector first as these sometimes perrish and leak fuel. It is possible to do this yourself by removing the air flow equipment then the plenum chamber, undo the bolts that hold down the injectors and pull them from block.
If you bend the pipe to one side you will see whether they are parrished or not. If that doesnt prove conclusive then look further, at seals ect.

Thanks Paul, I'll give that a shot, hopefully this week-end.
