GTV6 wont start- no injector pulse

i have built a gtv6 race car and for the meantime, ill be running the stock ecu and loom.
i did however take out most of the excess wiring from the rest of the car. and changed the fuse box to a much smaller item.

i now have a problem where the car wont start. i left the ecu loom untouched.
i have also fitted an msd 6al.

i have spark, and the dual relay is correctly wired for the fuel pump. the fuel pump runs when triggered through the ecu wiring connector.

but when the engine is cranked, the ecu is not earthing the injectors.

is there anyone out there who can help me?

have i accidently removed something when i re-wired the rest of the car?
do any of the relays on the original fuse box control the startup circuit on the ecu or the earthing of the injectors?

any help, suggestions or abuse would be appreciated.

check body to engine earth cable which should be located rhs front of engine bay, and the ecu loom earth connections (ring terminals) located just under the air intake plenum.

im pretty sure that both those earths are good. ill go over all of that tonight.

Are you sure that it is a problem with the ecu not earthing the injectors.
First 2.5 I built wouldn't pulse the injectors - turned out to be a pin in one of the injector plugs pushed back into the plug housing and shorting all 6 (they group fire on L-Jet).
Second was the 3.0 for my Dad's car - the injectors had gummed up from sitting for so long and all 6 wouldn't even pulse - wiring no problem but no fuel flow.
Just a couple of suggestions to look at.

a small update.
i had to buy an MSD Tach adapter, that has made it possible to start the car, however the timing seems way out and i cant get it to run much above idle, it just dies when i try to advance the throttle.
i have gone over just about everything i can think of.
earths have all been checked, along with the CTS, AAV, i have tried a different afm that is known to be good, along with another ecu from a running car. i have checked the TPS and tried 2 different distibuters, caps and leads.

im not sure if this is an msd issue or if its something else i have missed.
im running out of ideas and am thoroughly confused. the whole package minus the msd came from a running car 12 months ago.

i think i might have to ditch the msd and give the stock ignition a go. a friend of mine who is an automotive electrician is just as confused as me and cant see the msd being the cause.

right now though, ill give anything a go.

any suggestions would be welcomed with enthusiasm.

with it running poorly and timing way off i think you may do well to double chect your ignition wires, their ends, and fireing order. The fireing order may seem too simple, but I've been caught by this one before.

Hi Scott,
thanks for the suggestion. i have also been caught out by the firing order, although not this time.
in desperation i hooked up the standard ignition and it started and ran perfectly.
it seems that somehow the msd was out, and even though everything seemed to check ok- it wasn't. although im not yet sure why.

i will continue to investigate and hopefully ill be able to hook it up again.

im just pleased it finally goes,

Now you know what the problem is and you can go about fixing it.....I get soooo frustrated when there is a problem and I can't figure out what has gone wrong.
