7mm thermostat cover bolts

Post by Murray »

Any of you guys have a source for these bolts ?They are 7mm x 60 mm 1mm thread pitch.Even though Canada is supposed to be a "metric"country all the fastener suppliers I have contacted act as if I'm an alien ! (maybe I am ?).Seems that they only recognize 6mm or 8mm. 7mm is not available. These are the three bolts that go through the thermostat top housing into the base.

Murray,

I've had to buy them as a spare part. Just as hard to find in "metric" Oz as well.

My local hardware store actual had 7mm x 50mm which was sad since I needed the 60mm, but I was thinking that 55mm would work, just not the 50mm they had.

i take a look on eper.

for a alfa 75v6(milano)
group 10402 water pump and water hoses.
page 2

bolt:
part 13 ref:15248711 price each 2.4€=>2$ but solded only in package of 20.....

washer:
part 14 ref:13579371 price each 0.25€=>0.2$ but solded only in package of 50 !!!!! :!:

well.....its in yur side now... :?

eventually..........you can drill a 7.2mm and rethread for m8.
looks like there is enough room to do this.

alfa its boring with these kind of numberous conditionning.
if for a fucking washer i can agree they cant sold them one by one.

but for a lot of others things...sometime 30$ parts.... that there is 6 on the car i'm thinking to the hose beetwen intake runner and plenum... they are solded only by 5...............
one thing to say......asses!!!

Murray, drill and tap to the closest size available to you -metric or imperial.Alternatively put in a Helicoil and go m6......
French cars are shit and shit expensive to service and bloody awful and unreliable and expensive and friends don't let friends drive french cars and you wait years for parts.

Try the Rule Company in Tulsa, (918) 585-5757 I think they have every single nut and bolt for the Alfa.
