anyone know where i can get a new T-stat for a 2.5?...seems the only place that i could find them was international auto..and well...there out of stock..i called and was told they wont have any in for atleast 2-3 month...on a side note they were willing to tell me that there is a euro car currently in production that uses the EXACT same T-stat...but that there not sold in the states
if anyone has a good used one or knows of a good place to get new ones..or even a modification..let me know

of all places....autozone sells a T-stat that is for the alfa v6's.....HOWEVER it requires that the normal retaining pieces be cut off of the houseing top
im going to be the test mule for it i guess......kinda scary that ONLY autozone even has one or even lists one...and yes it even has the bottom sealing flap for when the top is open
thankfully i have a busted complete spare 2.5 that i could cut the stat houseing on as a test
guess for 11$ its worth a shot

Re: T-stat
Above is my post on AlfaBB.Autozone lists part number 15378 in their interchange for the Milano 2.5l. The picture is below.
I saw a post on GTV6.com where someone mentioned it working after cutting the mounting tabs off of the stock thermostat housing.
Since I needed a new thermostat and you can now buy the housings from Centerline, I decided it was worth a go.
I'm sorry I didn't take pictures, I intended to, but when one of the 3 housing bolts sheared off I got frustrated and forgot about pictures.
Sure enough, you do need to cut the mounting tabs off and grind them flush with the rest of the housing. I accomplished this with a cut off wheel and a die grinder.
The thermostat is $5.99 and my local autozone had it in stock. I believe it is actually a Ford replacement part. 180F.
For the first time my car got up to temp quickly and stayed very close to 175F on the gauge. Just slightly above.
Hopefully my fuel economy goes up a bit now.
