Water pump.

Post by tImBoWe »

Where would be the best place to get a new water pump for an 86 GTV6? Noticed a steady drip coming from the vicinity. Any thing else I should be doing while I'm in the area? Thanx Tim. :?:

- Two short coolant hoses (couple of inches).
- Timing belt?
- Tensioner?
- Thermostat if available.

I did all of these except the water pump recently, but did have to tap a new thread into the water pump as one of the bolts had snapped.

I installed the mechanical timing belt tensioner from IAP

Otherwise the NZ agent for factory Alfa parts is Tory Continental in wellington 04 385 4575 i think that is their number.

So I take it that water pumps is no major to get hold of? Are these the same as on other V6 models? Thermostat housing looks like it may have been off fairly recently. New silicon type gasket around it, but will check it anyway. Allthough the car warms to running temp with out too much delay. Cheerz for the assistance chaps. Tim.
