Any 1.8 Turbo Vems users here? -Help needed...

Post by killaz »

Hello and wake up!

Friend finished his AR 75 1.8T conversion to VEMS. Now is the time for mapping and any help or recommendations would be really appreciated! To be precise, we are asking for help - if there are any of you that already did conversion to VEMS.

Can't believe that there's no one to help... :( Any way friend managed to map his car but it is not finished yet.

Car is driving nice and for now can parry with 24v. It is running on 0.8 bar boost with TD04 from Volvo 850R.

Here is 201m drag 24v vs 1.8TB (note that TB has some problems with clutch slip)

Well, it's in Swedish actually. and that user is on this forum too (asking for help on a 24v I think). Try asking questions in English in his thread on alfapower.nu, pretty much 100% of the Swedish population speaks English as a second language.

Never used VEMS myself so no help available from me.

@ Marc

At the moment I'm running a hugely modified 1,8t with an Ontronic EMS. The software is a piece of shit. My 75 3.0 V6 with the MS1 drives good and was easy to tune. I love the MS Software.

Thats why i plan to use MS on the 1,8 Turbo.
How big are your injectors?

Do you drive the coil via the MS driver or do you use an external module (BOSCH)?

My only concern is that the injection resolution of the MS is to bad to drive the 400ccm Injectors -> bad idle.

i'm here yes, don't read the forums too often thou, what do u need help with killaz?

and yes, it's swedish. but as mats here said, almost all of us speak english fluidly.

i'm currentry running an 1.8 turbo with N/A cams and an intake from an ts engine, bigflow frontmounted intercooler, and mitsubishi td05-16gBIG turbo.

i can up the configurationfile i use for vems if u like, but it won't work right off, since u run 4 separate ignitioncoils and some other stuffs there i see, but it should be an good startingground.

right click the link and choose "save as" then load the saved file into your vems 3.14 program.

u can keep tighter contact with me if needed thru my mail: info@alfa75racing.se

Thank you for answering niczii, we needed some starting point for fuel maps when I initiated this thread. Then, I found your thread on alfapower.nu where we could see & follow you progressing and changing maps which was really great help.

You are running quite big turbo - how do you spool it? :D

P.S. I'll forward this contact to my friend.

what do u mean by "how do u spool it?" ?

it's not an problem to get the mitsu td05 to spin up, it's actually giving full pressure at as low as 3000rpm, but it does require about 50-80% more fuel than the standard turbo because of the imense increase in airflow.

I meant; is there huge lag but you answered already. 3000rpm is really good. Can you tell me about those N/A cams? You replaced for intake only or both, 105.48 or other?

Thank you very much!

Dear 1,8t friends

can you help me with some results?

What cranking pw do you set?

What idle pw do you have?

I've ordered my KDFI http://www.k-data.org/pages/index.php/page.116/

At the moment we use an Ontronic EFI but it's the biggest b....s.... i've ever seen.
My 75 3.0l V6 works very well with the MS1 for years now so i want to use MS for the Turbo porject. Engine is new with forged pistons, bearings and a forged CH gasket.
Stock cams for starting.... We also use IW158 Injectors (380ccm) and also use triggerwheel from a 2.0 TS Engine. ( Stock Bosch VR sensor and 60-2 wheel).

Just need some starting point for cranking and idle....

thanks a lot.....
