916 gtv / spider 24v gasket kit

Post by BradGTV »

im looking for a 916 gtv 24v engine gasket / seal kit.

IAP and centreline both have a listing for the 164 24v engines but not the 916 gtv. does anyone know if these gasket sets are the same? or the best / cheapest place i can order the correct kit from?

cheers, Brad

eb have one for $330 au not including delivery (+ $20-30?) which is resoanble but IAP have one for $295 deliverd to my door (for 164 tho). i would really like to know what the actual differneces are between 164 and 916 series engines?

One of the differences is that the 916 GTV engine has a chain-driven oilpump. The 916 GTV engine is actually more like an 166 engine.

I believe the head gaskets are different, or at least the one on the startermotor side.

The thermostat and housing and related parts are also quite different.
