Post by gatouille »

Hi,

I'm living in France, and I'd like to introduce myself and my transaxles.

I started in 2006 with an Alfetta berlina 2000 :

I worked one year and half on this car(body was painted by a professional)
It was exciting to see the revival of this car with only 21 600 km (only one owner before me)
Of course brakesn rubbers, gaskets... were out of order.

This was my first ALfa.

Sorry if my english is not good enough

But the gaskets of valves (is it the right words ?) were leaking and I had a lot of smoke push me to a total rebuilding of the motor with special cams, head and exhaust from DEVIL SODEMO, almost same as the one used in European and Frenc championship during eihties..
So am I a champion to ??
No ??? :(

Hello,

Welcome here where the other GTV nuts are...

Nice cars and a good job on the restoration of the Alfetta. They are getting rare.

Take it easy on the frogs and keep posting the pictures! :wall:

Here is a 2012 photo of my GTV 2.0 from 1983

When I bought it the weight was about 950 960 kilos, now 855 kilos
And, 143,1 HP (CV) which is not so bad for a stock Twin spark all brand new mounted by a amator

You have done very good work! I have one question: Where do they sell the exhaust manifolds and how much do they cost?

Jim K.

Thank you Jim K.
If you are the JIM K. of the book V6 engine, I must tell you all the pleasure I had reading 3 or 4 times your book
First because it's so interesting and because I tried to understand english

My eshaust maniflod are DEVIL SODEMO,
DEVIL is a famous (in France  ) french company which make for years sport exhaust manifold for cars or motorcycles.
Now this company is owned by MADAC, a company which make stainless exhaust manifold and exhaust.
http://www.madac-sas.fr/
And SODEMO is the name of a race company which worked whith Dany Snobeck race team (SRS) during the earliest eighties.
They used exhaust manifold DEVIL SODEMO like this :

Image
Image
The GTV6
Image
"CHAMPIONNAT DE FRANCE DE PRODUCTION" were a very very famous race in....France
That's why, Alfa France decided, after Snobeck team won 2 times this french championship and european (Too good these frenchies  ), to present limited edition ONLY for France:
GTV 2.0 "production"
And GTV6 "production"
Motors were stock and everything but a "body kit" made by a french company "Stand 21"
And specials rims (Ronal GOTTI..)
On left hand side a GTV 2.0 "production" with the typical body kit and ronal rims

DEVIL SODEMO are not available, sorry Jim, but I hope that Madac will make again this very nice exhaust manifolds, which are "mythic" in France for all the reasons I talk about.

On my V6 2,5L , I was "lucky" to find a pair of these DEVIL
A racing GTV6 hade an accident, in fact the garage in charge of the maintenance, broke it on the road !

So I bought spare parts of the wreck (race gtv6) , the exhaust manifold !

Another one are very close to DEVIL SODEMO for V6 12S.
The one mounted on specific GTV6 2,8L from germany, Dieter Gleich
Image

A friend bought a pair of them on ebay for 400 euros recently !

Let me explain the story of my motor V6 and Twin spark in another post.

I guess, Jim, you also like my exhaust manifold on Berlina Alfetta (not a common one)

Jim, I'm going to ask my friend if Exhaust manifold for 24S are available, if yes I'll give you photos and price.

They are using FWD 24S 3liter on GTV 116 or 75 so they make specifics exhausts manifold for RWD.
