The car is always uninsured on the Ring, always, no matter what people say.
The big thing is your health insureance and that is covered by the cars insureance (at least as far as I know for Europe) so renting a car fo a lap or borrowing someones car will still work.

Hey Kevin. Great to hear you're coming with us to the Ring and Spa in october. It should make a very impressive convoy, with at least 3 GTV6's pounding across Europe, your red SA beast, Alex's silver 3.5ltr monster and the John player special. You'll love the driving the Ring, but it's Spa is where you can really push the envelope, in places there's simply acres of run off, compared to inches at the ring. Pouhon the super fast double left hander is a case in point, you can push the car and yourself right to the limit with plenty of tarmac run off, meaning embarrassment, rather than an expensive repair bill, is the likely consequence of any over exuberance.

I can definetely vouch for Spa, I rented Ron Simmons a 75 V6 for a trackday at Spa about 3 years ago and had nothing but fun all day! great experience!
