Gains of lightening crank and flywheel?

Hi Guys! I´m a bit curious, what are the gains/losses of lightening the flywheel and crank. (The car is my GTV6 3.0 QV) I realise it all gets lighter and that will give some results. But if it is such a gain, howcome it isn´t done from factory? If you have the crank and flywheel loose, how much work...

Just some pics to show where I put it...

How would that help me Mats? I just wanted some ideas of where to put the gauge in the instrumentation, not the sensor. It goes in the original place.

Where place Oil pressure gauge?

I´ve decided to use a separate oil pressure gauge in my GTV6 3.0QV. I have a good quality gauge laying around. Dont quite trust the original one in the instrumentation. But my question; Where should I place it. I want it to look good but discreet. Any suggestions, tips? Pics of how others has done i...

hey guys! Kevin, it´s going good, but as you say I have no skin whatsoever left on my hands. A 13mm wrench had to me slayn to get the headers in place. :) The engine i have is 164 3.0 QV (S) engine. The original 2.5 manifolds are definetly too small. The original 3.0QV are bigger but can offcourse n...

Yup, a lot of welds it is!
Right, and I had to step it down from 2,5" at the bend, to 1 3/4" at the flex pipe/first muffler.
The bend I used was 90 degrees, what I needed was a bend somewhere between 70-80 degrees. So instead of making 1 cut and get a sharp bend, I made a few.

Ok then, finally got it done today. Well, that is, I´m 98% finished with the welding, so I could test mount everything. Seems to come out allright.

Dave, the headers are similar. I´m talking about the angle of the raw material of the pipe I built the down pipe from. You can see it in the second picture in my last post.

Here are some more pics of what I´ve allready done so far. I hope to get it finished up this weekend.

Why what? I just wanted to get rid of the original cast iron manifolds and open up the exhaust a bit. This is not a "I´m tweeking 1200bhb out of my 23 year old car"-thread. I just put a 3.0 in it and posted some pics along the way for those interested. Its not a race car, its my summer dri...
