Re: 24 v performance cam on standard engine..?

Zamani,

Can you provide details on the intake runners? I'm still looking for a reasonably priced way to increase the runner ID.

Thanks!

Re: Supercharged Nord 2.0 4cyl (Spider engine)

Tell me about it...I was mighty surprised to not find a pinch bolt when I was under our Alfetta last weekend. Referenced your drive-shaft alignment web page too :D Going to have a few questions for the board in the upcoming weeks as our Alfettas has some pretty stupid levels of Giubo flex going on, ...

Re: Supercharged Nord 2.0 4cyl (Spider engine)

That is hilariously awesome!

What drive shaft and guibos do you use to set that engine in? Where did you get the mounts? I assume you're using an Alfetta bell-housing?

Re: Burned 3.2 GTA engine rebuild

It would be fantastic if you could get that running again, while keeping cleaning to a minimum. Would be quite a conversation starter when the hood is popped.

Re: Porting and shaving 2.5L 12V heads

How much can I bump the compression to on a 2.5 without milling too much off that it cannot be milled again if the head gets warped? So, if the heads get milled to bring compression up to, say 9.5:1 or so, will I still NEED to be elongating the pulley holes/will I be worried if I need to mill the he...

Re: A 'budget' race car is born (slow delivery)

What caused the chafing of the clutch? What causes the hydraulic system to build up pressure? There was enough pressure to pull the clutch off the flywheel??

Re: Front mounted tranny

Isn't the problem with the transmission with the studs pulling out, not so much the ring and pinion giving up? If it is the R&P, in the ae86 world, making custom ring and pinions doesn't seem that expensive, there are companies willing to make them in batches of 10 and sell them for like $400 USD.

Re: Koni shocks and springs

OK, new issue: I want to switch from Bilsteins to Koni Yellows. Will I blow Koni Yellows if I run the rears only with a #350 lb/inch spring? (about 7kg/mm). Reasoning, the RSR coilovers have like zero rebound (for comfort? Or V6 cars are just to damned heavy!) and the bilsteins are working too well ...

I actually mean an Alfetta GT in race trim...for instance, how much does your car weigh?

Re: MD's Racer-The Flying Brick

How much does a gutted Alfetta weigh? Ball park figure, as I know there are multitudes of differences. Jes' weight reduction on his Milano seems to be very extensive, yet he seems to be stuck around 2400lbs. How about the race Alfettas? I'm wondering if it is worthwhile to make a racer out of my v6 ...

I have stock rubber everything up front, and full poly everyhting in the rear. I doubt that's your problem. Other than increased noise, there were no ill side effects.

So, any bump at speed will upset a stiffly spring car. Bump steer will actually cause one of the wheels to toe in or out, creating a steering action that you didn't intend. Does that feel like your problem? Or, just that hitting a bump in a turn make the car react so much, that it becomes a little h...
