Yeah, the only thing I've come across is that the Turbo Evoluzione seemed to use larger bearings. Why would they go through the hassle, right?

But then again, if the stunt 75 can run on 2 wheels...

Barry, let me know about those knuckle risers!

I already have a 1 and 1/16th" inch dropped spindle and *under damped* front coilovers.

Barry, could you also measure the amount of drop on the SZ units, and see if there's any change to ackerman or anything else cool???

It's true, the cars drive the best when they're at stock height. It seems you can only get away with lowering the car and reaping the benefits if you increase the spring rates by a large amount, ( to keep the sump off the ground for one, and also to compensate for the knackered geometry that's just ...

Alfettas have the smallest wheel bearings, no problems still??

I'm assuming weight doesn't have much to do with wear (since tires would exert the same amount of force on a heavy car as they would a light car..just at different speeds) ?

That's a good point Zamani. As you can see, I just don't want to keep going down the adapter route if it will lead me to more grief. I want to buy some 15' 5x114.3 wheels and R-comps, but if they greatly increase the strain on the wheel bearings....can you see why I'm worried? Part of the reason for...

Wheel bearing failure

Do you racers have trouble running low offset wheels and sticky tires? I've recently switched to a wheel adapter to use 5x114.3 wheels, but my wheel/adapter combo seems like it's putting a lot of leverage on the wheel bearings. I'm worried that using track day tires with this setup will cause me whe...

Go test drive the nicest one you can find, even if you're not sure you want to buy it. From then you can make a better decision on what you want. I think you'll notice a very poor build quality, crunchy gearbox (unless it's been recently rebuilt), and one of the most responsive and fun driving exper...

Cheers Grant, top stuff :D Are those spring rates pound/inch, kilograms/millimetre or kilograms/centimeter? It looks like there are mounting points for outboard calipers on the rear axle :? No rear AR bar for the SZ/RZ? A result of being shorter? The rear axle looks more sturdy than standard, obvio...

Thanks, learn something new every day, as they say. You can see them pretty clearly in the shop manual diagrams. Unless the actual cars just had bushes, I'm pretty sure the SZ had heims. There's a ball joint at the front of the dedion...why not everywhere else then?? On my AE86, I have heim's on bot...

Standard dropped spindles (I don't know how much) Standard in-car adjustable ride-height koni coilovers (using a pump and hydrualic system to clear speed bumps) Standard cambered dedion with heim joints on the watt's linkage and a spherical ball at the front of the dedion. Pretty baller! Only thing ...

Jim, how much lighter is the Motronic starter?

Does that mean the 164 starter is different again?
So there's the L-jet starter, the SZ/QV starter, and a 164 starter? Is that right?
