Re: Couple of Updates

Thanks Kevin. I haven't decided what to do about the underhood decals yet. I don't ever plan to enter another concours with the car and think it would look much nicer without the clutter. I'm also toying with the idea of simply removing the windshield reservoir altogether. I've been spending the day...

Couple of Updates

Greetings from Sunny California :) Thought I'd post a couple of summer updates to the GTV6. When I acquired the car in December of '06, I knew the head gaskets were bad. I managed to nurse it for about a year, but after failing smog this year it became obvious that the time had come to attack the pr...

Older Ronals - Know These Wheels?

Starter Relay?

My starter has begun to crap out (it just clicks when turning the key, it starts about every 4-5 attempts) and I ran across this thread while looking for starter info.

Could someone who has installed a relay to the starter post back with which relay they used?

Thanks!

It needs head gaskets and the starter only works about 1/4 of the time, but yes, I drive it every chance I get. :D

Update cont.

Then in the last week I upgraded the DOT headlights to Cibie lamps along with new wiring and relays, and added a new steering wheel and shift knob. The wheel and shifter weren't necessary  , but go a long way towards improving the "feel" of the car.

Updates

I've been upgrading the car as time and money allow. First to go were the Speedline wheels, replaced with these,

Yeah I wanted to believe it was some rare anomalie too, but its not, it's 22 years old and Alfa Romeo aren't renowned for consistent quality. The one on my hatch is really good and has all its colour. The light blue is the base colour all the others are layed over the top of this. my 2 cents... and...

Did you ever get the lights? What do you think of them? Are you installing relays?

Finally ironed out the mechanical issues and got to take the car out for an afternoon cruise. It's running great and is a real kick to drive. I think I'm in love  http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/63/alfafeb07thepass01qy6.jpg http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/882/alfafeb07thepass03pt3.jpg ht...
