Re: No longer a ''budget" race GTV
When I overshoot a braking zone/lose stability when braking I keep the wheel straight and try to kill speed as fast as possible, then once I feel it is safe, begin to turn in. I feel this is the best way to slow down enough to try and make the corner. Turning in under overly-heavy braking seems to ...

Re: Back again...
yeah - thought they sounded a bit taller. I run 205/45 17 and would like to go to a 215/45 but don't think they are going to fit on the front without some massaging of inner guard and spoiler - heaps of room on the back though and might go 225/45 to bulk out the guards and up my gearing a bit.

Re: Front Brake Pad Recomendations
any update on the latest and greatest brake pads for GTV6 (standard rotors and calipers)? fast road and fun track days only default setting will be DS2500 (have experimented with EBC Green and Race Brakes RB74 but was not thrilled by either - too little 'bite') MD told me about his trick pads - but ...

Re: No longer a ''budget" race GTV
A wet skidpan is best intro to the world of throttle control and weight management that i can think of. Better still if you can engineer a change of direction into it (so is not just burning around in a circle). Try to drive as FAST as possible - that will teach you what works and what doesn't - its...

have bought another 75 for spare parts, and there are pretty good looking 15" wheels on it, but I can't find producer of them, and centers are missing
Do you have any idea what are they and where could I get center caps? they are 5x98 ET33 and "Made in Austria"...

my 17x7.5s have a 35mm offset so if you want to try them on to see how it steers before buying another set, let me know.

Re: 2.5L -> 2.8L 12v project
yep, mines a 2.8. It makes for a nice engine, and is not common, but is not really cost effective given the machining involved as well as the risk of stuffing the block. I'd give you the name of the engine builder who did mine, and he's a top bloke, but he is not likely to want to do another (or he ...

Re: Back again...
pics of girlf...wait...sorry, wrong forum. actually finally put gold wheels to use last weekend - had to 'machine' the spigot size to fit on rear (must be 'big' 2.0 axles) but all turned out good - even have 1mm less offset than my other wheels, so it looks fully sic bro anyway, pics of stupidly goo...
