Re: 3 liter, 24 valve engine project
So Michael has done a butt load of engineering on this GTV6, and done a great job I might add. But you know what ? He also had a fun time ringing its neck at the last NWARC track day at Pacific Raceway. As far as I can tell it ran great and he always had a smile on his face. Me too. Loved running on...

Re: 3 liter, 24 valve engine project
Hello Garth, Then your seats are probably easier to get in an out of. A nice feature for everyday useage. And a good way for us big guys to fit into these wonderful compact cars. Michael !!! Missed you at the track day last Thursday. Brad Miller was there with his worked over Milano. I think he's do...

Re: 3 liter, 24 valve engine project
Hello Garth, Are you using a stock seat? From my last posting you know my solution. Also, extending the steering wheel makes a huge difference in creating knee clearance. With those changes I can put in a long day driving and be fine at the end. The only slight issue is that my race seat, the large ...

Re: 3 liter, 24 valve engine project
It's the race seat that makes the difference Michael. You'll have to sit in my car and do a fit check. My car does have a sunroof and I used to have to keep it open when wearing a helmet. If I didn't track my GTV6 I'd still have one as the fit is so much better. See you next Thursday Michael ! Merril

Re: 3 liter, 24 valve engine project
My kid shot these two pictures of the best GTV6 drivers at Pacific Raceway that day. Ok, we were the only GTV6 drivers that day
Was lots of fun and I look forward to Thursday Sept 15th, same location.
Looking forward to see you there Michael.

Re: Run Tires Opposit Direction of Stated Rotation ?
Thanks for the information guys. I'll be running them in the opposit direction September 15th. Glad I don't have to scrap them. Expect to see Michael there at Pacific Raceway near Seattle. We were in different classes last time but think he'll be in the next upper class with me come that Thursday. T...

Run Tires Opposit Direction of Stated Rotation ?
Greetings everyone, Is there any harm done to running track tires opposit the direction of rotation as shown on the tires sidewall ? I run a set of Toyo Proxis RA-1's that have worn on one side but not the other. This is due to the anti-clockwise tracks I drive. I've swapped tires on rims to move th...

Re: 3 liter, 24 valve engine project
Hi Michael ! Note, the track day is Wednesday September 1st. Looking forward to seeing you there. For all you folks on the East coast USA, SoCal, in OZ, SA, Europe, and elsewhere too far away, Alfas have driven Pacific Raceway this year in the Seattle area for free ! And that includes lunch. I think...

Re: FINAL DRIVE RATIOS & TRANSAXLE GEARSET RATIO QUESTIONS
Hopefully this isn’t hijacking the thread, but I have a thought regarding gear ratios. Are we trying to tackle the ratio problem from the wrong direction ? What I’m thinking about is the desire to be in the fat part of the power band when it’s needed most. Like exiting a corner or pulling a hill. It...

Re: FINAL DRIVE RATIOS & TRANSAXLE GEARSET RATIO QUESTIONS
Hello MR2 Zig, would that be Wes Ingram ? Here are a couple more Mr. Jemison combinations. Sorry for the short posts, if I type past the initial window the display jumps around. Richard's Long Track Gearset 1st 2.88 Milano 1st gear 2nd 1.72 Milano 2nd gear 3rd 1.23 Milano 3rd gear 4th 1.04 Alfetta 4...

Re: FINAL DRIVE RATIOS & TRANSAXLE GEARSET RATIO QUESTIONS
I haven't been following the alfagtv6 web site much lately so I don't know if Richard Jemison posts or not. Sometime in the past I saw combinations he created by mixing in Alfetta and Milano gears. A short track gearset: 1st 2.00 Alfetta 2nd gear in 1st gear location. 2nd 1.72 Milano 2nd gear 3rd 1....

Re: FINAL DRIVE RATIOS & TRANSAXLE GEARSET RATIO QUESTIONS
I wouldn't recommend a GTV6 transaxle. Their gear ratios were different than the Milanos. GTV6 Transaxle Gearset 1st 3.5 So low to be useless, even with the 3.48 R&P. Good for pulling a plow. 2nd 1.96 Low as well. Lower than the Milanos 3rd 1.26 Third gear is fine, but note the big (BIG) gap bet...
