I don't remember when the transition occured but at some point the GTV6 had the brake bias reduced at the rear. I think it was something about too much rear pad wear in normal use. With hard old street tires by rears skid first. I think they should be reduced some. Will get worse if I ever install g...

Well, you've hit on one of the transaxle cars chief week spots. Vented rotors are a definite must. I haven't switched yet myself but until I do, everything else is just half measures. Until you get vented rotors installed, be sure you have very high performance pads. Carbotechs or other brands of ca...

Tire Rubber Age vs Grip
Anyone have a feel for how much grip tire rubber looses as they age? It's pretty substantial on some old snow tires I have. Not near the traction. I've been using some older highway tires lately that I took off a Verde I parted out and believe they've seen better days as well, even though there is g...

Gear Ratios & Final Drives
Been thinking about gear ratios and final drives. A=Alfetta, G=GTV6, M=Milano/75 1st Gear: G=3.5, A=3.3, M=2.88 2nd Gear: A=2.01, G=1.96, M=1.72 3rd Gear: A=1.38, G=1.25, M=1.23 4th Gear: A=1.04, G=0.95, M=0.95 5th Gear: A=0.83, G=0.76, M=0.76 As most people on this forum know, the “Platinum” (Mijla...

I'd say adjustable brake bias is in the cards. With the stock configuration on my early GTV6, the front and rears lock up at the same time. With gummy track tires the rears would be locking up too soon. I'll be converting to vented rotors on the rear one of these days and wonder if pad wear will dec...

Mats, Are you a tall guy? It looks like you've got the bottom seat pad out. I myself want to install a race seat. something I can put on the floor and get it back between the intrusion of the shifter feature and the left side rocker sheetmetal. I had tried the Recaros from a Milano Verde and the adj...

I guess I'm a snob or something. I see these various versions and think it's all a bunch of unnecessary tacked on gingerbread. Even my car, an 82 Balocco (forget the s/n) with its clover leaf on the exit vent and Balocco script doesn't add anything to the car. The leather is tight-stretched and feel...

Yep Zambon, I read Hotrod. See, I trade my Autoweek publications with my brother for Hotrod and Cycleworld. They've had some very good detailed articles on many of the new engines. And there are other articles I just skip . . . Regarding valve size, or the entire heads for that matter, I think one n...

From what I've read, going to larger valves on the 3.0 12-valve may not be worth the trouble as this engine's ports are the same size as the 2.5L. I'd say the 3.0L heads would need to be ported first to justify larger valves. Then there is the extra weight of larger valves. That might stress other c...
