Seems I remember the problem was that if a coil-over system was added and the shock towers were unsupported, the spot welds would pull away. I think a racer on this forum had it happen. I believe the answer was seam welding with reinforcement. I imagine the tower brace would help with the support as...

So on a moderately powered car, say approximately 200hp from a common 3.0L, would this addition increase the life of the guibo over time, or just keep it from failing as soon with higher horsepower applications ?
Thanks,

I know changing the heads is a longshot but worth a try as it will eliminate them as a possible problem source. Sounds like the engine Barry was working on solved it's oil problem by changing the heads. I wonder if it burned oil before the original rebuild? My engine didn't burn oil before so I hope...

I've read up on those BeeeeeTurbos and came to the conclusion that they just didn't spec out as well as our transaxle cars. A well tuned Maser probably goes pretty well, but they are nose heavy, have solid front rotors, the 90 degree rough cob vee6, rear-toe changing semi-trailing arm suspension, an...

Hi Greg & Murry, Thought I’d comment on the SuperVerde’s oil consumption. I rebuilt a 3.0L myself a while back and experienced the same oil consumption problem. I installed upgraded S-pistons/cylinder barrels but changed out the supplied rings with TotalSeal gapless units. After putting approxim...

Yep, GTV6s are not that fast with a stock engine and stock size tires. Modifications can make them faster for a reasonable price. Here's my input for the GTV6; It is a car with a very high fun factor. It simply puts a grin on your face. Especially when the road gets curvy. Besides being good looking...

What is the advantages of a floating rotor over one that is not.
I'm guessing it's a wear issue but not sure about all the ramifications.

Yea Al, I get over to the alfaracing news group once in a while. Some day I'll have to contact RJ about a gearbox, and his cams, and his clutch, and his . . .

Can you tell us about your experiences using those modified transaxles Al ? They seem like such a good modification.

Looks like we're both on the web site Zambon. It's pretty easy to determine the R&P ratio. Just count the teeth on your ring and the teeth on the pinion and devide the pinion number into the ring number. A way to tell a Milano box from a GTV box is that the later Milano (and 86GTV6 I think) has ...

Bummer Zambon! I had the exact problem. I thought that all Verdes had the LSD and was surprised when mine didn't. I had a similar recent thread and the general recomendation was to go with a transaxle that already has one as there are some very challenging issues regarding alignment of the ring &...

Thanks for the additional input ! I've noted that one can "get lucky" and not have a problem with alighnment. My source for an LSD JJ is your suggestion of Ben at Ralli-Round in Seattle. He's gotten lucky as well with dropping an LSD into a different transaxle. He uses a blueing compound t...

Thanks so much for the input you guys ! I have found a source for an LSD, but as you've mentioned, the alignment issues are so difficult that one may as well just go buy a complete transaxle and save on the hassle. It's issues like this where this forum can really save a lot of grief! Best regards, ...

Ring to Pinion Alighnment

Hi everyone, I parted out a Milano Verde expecting to have an LSD in the transaxle. To my surprise I found an open differential there when I opened up the side cover to get ready and install extra shims. So I'm looking for an LSD unit to go into the transaxle. Anyone in the states have one they want...

Hi Peter, This must be an oversight by the club as they are so gung-ho about putting on the convention I can't imagine them not making room for you. Please e-mail Gordy Hyde at gohyde@hotmail.com as he's the convention coordinator and not a person to say no on something like this. JJ is also a membe...
