Re: A/C installation in a non A/C spec GTV6

Hi, Pete, Saw your post on GTV-6 AC and felt compelled to chime in since I've gone through a version of that process recently. I haven't read the entire history of this thread, so perhaps my story isn't exactly on point, but I'll tell it anyway. My car originally had the TropicAir option with the se...

Wanted - GTV-6 non-TropicAire shelf parts

Where the TropicAire GTV-6 cars had a second evaporator mounted behind a plastic panel beneath the glove box, the non-TropicAire cars had a small package shelf arrangement. Does anyone have the shelf parts and brackets that are mounted below the glove box in the non-TropicAire cars? I have most of t...

Re: FS 15" Rial Zender GTV6 wheels

Hello,

Are the rims still for sale? If so, how wide are they and what is the offset?

Alfetta GT in Temple City, CA

I don't know whether this car is for sale. Late last night I saw it on the lot at Foreign Motor Services in Temple City, CA (close to Pasadena). It's maroon, looks complete, not rusty, not customized, no damage apparent from the outside, very dirty. Doesn't look like a car waiting for service. Here'...

GTV-6 alternator pulley spec

Can anyone provide a spec for mounting the pulley on the alternator shaft, i.e., what is the distance between the outside face of the alternator's lower mounting lug and the outside edge of the pulley? Or should the measurement be taken between the outside face of the alternator's lower mounting lug...

Harbor Freight engine support stand

Hello, I'd like to get the motor out of my GTV-6 parts car before our upcoming house move. Once it's out, I'd like to attach it to a Harbor Freight 1000 lb. engine stand (the 4-wheel model, about $50). How would that stand mount to the V-6 motor? What is the most straightforward way of doing that? F...

AC thermostat probe thingie

At some point in its past lives, my current '86 GTV-6 had the AC components removed, I think because the previous owner had fantasies about turning it into a racecar. The process has been a horrible PITA all the way along, but I'm making progress at putting it all back together. The lower AC control...

WANTED--Milano center console

Does anyone have a Milano center console complete and unbroken? It doesn't need to have the switches, but it does need to have the arm rest pad.

Removing Exhaust system

I want to remove the exhaust system from my GTV-6 parts car. The car's on blocks, and the rear exhaust section has already been removed. The front section is the stock Alfa unit, but it is welded to the center section. So, in order going rearward, there are the exhaust manifolds connecting to the tw...

Re: OE GTV-6 radio/cassette help

I'm kind of slow with this thread, but before finishing up with the radio/cassette, the dash needed to be removed/replaced and some of the AC components that were removed by the EPO needed to be reinstalled. I'm left with the two power wires for the OE Clarion radio/cassette unit--everything else is...

Re: GTV-6 door swap

Roll pins (which I think are also called spring pins) are available through a great outfit called Small Parts Inc. in the South Florida area. If you/ve never heard of them, check them out--they've got a great catalog that's printable as a huge .pdf. Does anyone know what the size of the roll pins fo...

Re: OE GTV-6 radio/cassette help

Hi, Jason, In my first GTV-6, an '84, the PO had installed a pull-out Kenwood that had switchable interior lighting, green or orange. It looked very nice with the green. I know what some of the wires do because they had been labeled by an installer at some point. Four were tied together labeled &quo...

Re: GTV6 steering wheel compatibility

I don't mean to rain on anyone's parade, but it was my understanding that the OE GTV-6 steering wheels that look like wood were actually some sort of synthetic or composite. Don't know if that's true or not, but I remember a thread about it on the Alfa Digest years ago. Charlie Koster San Gabriel, CA

OE GTV-6 radio/cassette help

Perhaps someone can help with this. For reasons of appearance, I’m going to reinstall the original equipment radio/cassette deck in my GTV-6. All of the modern audio options just look too whizbang-zoomy-technoid. The original unit installed in this 1986 car is a Clarion, model PU-9034B according to ...
