i've actually replaced the frothing PS pump on my 75 TS with a 146 1.7 boxer one. the result was a super light PS steering which makes it impossible to drive at higher speed, not to mention the almost zero road feel. tried lowering the oil pressure from the pump to the rack by drilling small holes o...

after half a year of waiting around, i finally got the chance to try and resolve the intermittent speedo problem again. i pulled new ground wires both to the amplifier and speedometer, pulled a new signal wire from the amplifier to the speedometer, and the problem persists. finally, after a tip from...

hi marco, thanks for the pointer. i will do that...i tried doing it during the weekend but realized my multimeter batteries were dead :( have to go get new batteries for it. also, i tested by pulling a wire directly from the ground of the amplifier to the battery negative terminal (temporarily for t...

Thanks zambon, Coach, I would recommend either taking the speedometer itself to have tested or trying an alternate unit that you know works. By the process of elimination you can converge on the true problem. Cheers, Marco hi all...have been away for quite some time... marco, this is what i did aft...

hi all, thanks for the replies. i spent half a saturday finding out what went wrong, and found out that the speedometer is somehow not supplying the 12v to the amplifier/sender. i think it has shorted somehow. the signal and ground connectivity all round seems ok though. what i did, i tapped another...

a stupid question from me...but before that, my speedo now is well and truly not working (alfa 75 2.0TS) :( after a period of behaving erratically. ok, back to the stupid question... for the alfa 75, the speedo sensor/sender will actually go to an intermediate box (somebody suggested it's an amplifi...

hi all, just to provide some updates. a few weekends ago, decided to try something to see if it helps the pump. used some 100% silicon and basically sealed up all the joins, gaps and such on the ZF PS pump (outside) in the hope of sealing off any potential air leaking into the pump. result? not much...

mcandiago, doesn't seem to have that, though when i first got the car, it used to work intermittently even when the weather is cool (like at night, for instance). but after cleaning those connections, it doesn't occur when it's cool...only when it's hot and the car is driven fast (not necessarily dr...

intermittent working speedo on 75 2.0TS
i'm at my wits end, and i hope gurus here can help. driving a 75 2.0TS and have been having this weird problem with the speedo. i'll describe the problem. when the car is moving on a highway at a relatively constant speed, under very hot ambient conditions, after some time the speedo will start to g...

hi all, i don't think it's normal to foam and bubble till it becomes like a float, and thus spilling out of the reservoir. when i custom fit a 146 boxer PS pump to it, there was no foaming, but it wasn't working properly with the rack. also, the PS pump in my 155 16v doesn't foam the fluid. anyway, ...

Milano/75 power steering pump (ZF) seal fix
i have been trying to find an answer to the problem above...found a thread in the old forum but alas already locked. anyway, following the suggestions in the old thread regarding resealing the ZF milano PS pump (by Nizam) i actually managed to get some shop here in malaysia to replace all the o-ring...
