Alfetta Tail Lenses - Altissimo?

Hi all,

I've picked up a shiny new set of tail lenses ready for a '79 GTV. Went to put them on and they won't fit! I've tried both housings from a GT and a GTV, neither are any good - all the screw holes are at least 5mm out.

Does anyone know whether Altissimo manufactured housings/bases as well?

Re: Motronic Water Pump

Thanks guys... Should have known to come here first. 3 forums and they're all talking about custom pulleys and such.

To your point, Jim; I figured out that the removable pulley is of a different size than the 164 pump - which is what everybody was trying to sell me.

Thanks again!

Motronic Water Pump

Hey All, I've been chasing a water pump for my Motronic 3.0 75/Milano (Potenziata here in Aus) for a while and it appears that they are as rare as rocking horse s*!t. I'm told they are the same as an SZ and quite different to the 12V 164 engine that followed. Before I go mucking around with custom m...

Re: 166 24v into 116 GTV

Thanks for posting this, Kevin. I've just stumbled across a 166 for peanuts and I'm debating stealing the engine for a GTV6. What are the chances you a lead on someone to perform this kind of work still? I can only imagine it costing a small fortune here in Australia. Short of that, is there any way...

Would kill for a set of guards like those. Makes a great noise too.

Re: Balance issues?

Thanks Mats.

Pardon my ignorance, but how much movement are you talking about regarding engine/gearbox? Do you mean whatever is allowed with the standard mounts in place? I.e. loosen/unbolt during installation?

Re: Balance issues?

I'll have to check about the timing of the breakage. Thanks for the photos, Kevin - I'll certainly be recommending reinforcing the unit. I got under the car (very briefly) today and noticed that the deDion was missing the spacers under the crossmember. Could this have caused enough wear over time to...

Balance issues?

Hi all, Just wondering if anyone has had any balance-related issues in the arse end after bolting a twinspark 'box in? A mate of mine has broken two front clutch housings in successive tarmac events and is understandably sick of trying to find replacements. Here's what I know; - He's running an all-...

Re: Strange failure on 12v 3.0...

So... Just got back from my mechanic's workshop. Head was in having shims put in. All went back together fine, until he tried to rotate the camshaft. Won't turn... Shit. The head is -for lack of a better term- bent. Cam journal #3 is sitting proud of the others. F$@#!!! Needless to say I'm not happy...

Re: Strange failure on 12v 3.0...

Motor was from a 75, yes. I used the conventional distributor. Right - what happened... Distributor/oil pump drive pulley has two keyways cast into it. One has a locating key/pin (it may have had two at some stage, it all looks pretty worn). It had obviously been loose at some stage, as the keyway i...

Strange failure on 12v 3.0...

Hi all, I was just putting the finishing touches on a 3.0 conversion in my GTV6 when I had a small altercation between a couple of pistons and valves! I got everything running nicely enough, got 300km on the motor when it started running really rough. I tried to reverse out of my driveway (uph...

75/Milano 3.0 Parting out - Australia

Hi guys, I found myself with a 113,000km old 75/Miliano 3.0 that bore the brunt of a truck in its rear end. The car was immaculate in gun metal grey and ran beautifully when I picked it up. I've pulled the entire car apart and need to get rid of what I can. I'd list everything here, but there's lite...

Re: Where to go in Italy?

It's far from Alfa talk, but ... If you're staying in Milano for any length of time, head to the canal district and look for a restaurant by the name of Al Pont de Ferr - all the local cab drivers know the place. By far the most amazing culinary experience I've had the benefit of enjoyin and not stu...
