Re: What sort of Alfa cars we want
They have dealers all over the US I presume? Not having to set up a dealer network would save a lot of time when Fiat decide to go into the US market. Yes they do. Alfa tried to sell through them in the early 1990s before they left the US market. The cultural gap was too great and sales suffered ev...

Re: What sort of Alfa cars we want
The hookup is between Fiat and Chrysler, not GM.
Why Fiat wants to do this is still a mystery to me. By reading the US Government report on Chrysler it seems as if they have NO assets worth saving.

Mats, in the wheel stud photo the stud of the left is cut, but the one on the right is rolled. Is that correct?

Re: Mats Strandberg (SWE)
First and foremost, thanks for posting! You do the BB credit. Now some friendly, naive questions: The runners aren't long and straight like that, are they? Is the length correct but the topology simplified to ease the computational time? What if the runners were curved, wouldn't that change everythi...

AutoItalia #153 (31Dec2009)
This issue of AutoItalia has a nice article on the Alfa V6 from their Landmark Engines series. It has a list of all cars that used the V6. I was suprised to see a number of non-Alfas. They were: '85-'96 Fiat Croma, '84-'94 Lancia Thema, '94-'01 Lancia Kappa, '01-'06 Lancia Thesis, and last (but not ...

Agreed, but we are talking about car type not outward appearance. Being an Alfa we all hope it is pleasant to look at!mjr wrote:its bloody ugly

Re: What sort of Alfa cars we want
No one seems to have mentioned the Mazda RX-8: nimble, light weight, a driver's car. Except for the rotary engine (which, unfortunately, is a key to the light weight) is this the arena that Alfa should compete in?

Mats, I hear Volvo is for sale cheap! Are you going to buy it and set all those top-notch Swedish engineers to work on your Alfetta track car???

Re: Honda Pulls Out of Formula 1.
Interesting video, thanks for posting.
Amazing how much fuel it flows, and how much is rejected by the intake system at some engine speeds. Perhaps with rest of the intake system fitted, and with car at speed, this situation changes.

Re: Honda Pulls Out of Formula 1.
The bigger downside to WTCC is trying to even up the front-wheel and rear-wheel drive cars. They seem to do a good job as the racing is usually close and exciting.

Re: What sort of Alfa cars we want
The Nissan GTR is in some way an updated version of the Alfa Romeo SZ (ES-30). Just take the Alfa and add the Callaway twin turbos and a shaft from the transaxle forward to drive the front wheels! :D (Remember the 164 Q4, albeit a completely different layout.) I am not saying literally do this but A...

Yes WTCC is excellent. Too bad Alfa dropped out a few years ago.

Re: Honda Pulls Out of Formula 1.
Wow! After reading that I see that there is more action off the track in F1 than on it!
