Heat shield?

Can anyone post a pic of a GTV6 "underneath"?
I'd like to know where a kind of heat-shield has to be installed. I assume this curved metal sheet serves to shield the heat coming from the exhaust central sections but a pic would greatly help.

Molte grazie

[WANTED] Right-hand side rear view mirror

I'm looking for a passenger's side rear view mirror for my 1981 GTV6 2.5. Even a LHD driver's side mirror should be OK.

Thanks

Hi Lucio, have you had this mechinism off of the engine yet? Does it still have the original hollow bolt/stud that feeds oil into the cylinder? Is it getting oil. Does it have the "O" ring around the piston , to hold any pressure, and is the small hole in the bottom of the unit clear to a...

Lucio, The "Belt stretcher housing," (metal casting) is in fact locked in one place when you are happy with the pre tension , but the piston/plunger is free to press against the "Belt stretcher plate" which holds the pulley. The pulley is on an offset hub so it acts like a cam/l...

Mmmmh, so the newer tensioners are not OK with an old 2.5 V6?

The old hydraulic one does have some oil leak but the problem seems that it stays "locked" in one position (or so my mech guy says).

TB tensioner...again!

Perhaps this is a frequently asked question...if so, I beg your pardon :D The hydraulic tensioner on my GTV6 doesn't seem to work (though the previous owner claims it's brand new). Hence I'm considering buying a new one (>230 euro!!! ). Someone suggested me to avoid the old hydraulic type an...

Just my two cents here. From Italy  I also own a Fiat Coupé 2.0 Turbo, 5 cyl, 220 HP. Undoubtedly it is WAY faster than my '81 GTV6 (0-60 in 6 secs etc.) BUT!! The GTV6 is so exciting to drive!!!!!! Simply put, the Coupé can't stand the competition... It is scary fast, and that's all. ...

Please advise if you can locate a right electric mirror for a 1981 GTV6.

Thanks

Uh, seems like I've found one, S/H, complete, from a dismantled GTV6. The owner doesn't know how much to ask for it and is unsure whether it is complete or not. Keeping fingers crossed, Lucio Just a quick update: bought the A/C system, complete with hoses, cables and schemes. Paid 600 Euro. Lucio

Good luck Lucio, keep us all posted on this, I will also do the conversion if I can get the parts and its not too hard/expensive to fit. With air-con these cars will be perfect in summer as well as winter! Next time I go to Le Mans I want air-con. Uh, seems like I've found one, S/H, complete, from ...

1981 GTV6 without A/C

Dear friends, this is my very first post to this forum so pls be kind with me  Some of you may remind my old posts on Alfa Digest. I also manage a website devoted to the Alfa 33 ( http://riemann.unica.it/~lucio/alfa/ ). After an Alfa 33 1.7 16V and a Fiat Coupé Turbo 20V (220 bhp) I'm about to...
