I made up a bracket and mounted to the passengers seat frame at the front. It was out of the way just under the passengers legs and moved with the seat if you had to adjust the seat forward or back.

Ben
Just went down stairs and checked for you
164 and GTV6 ring gears are the same - well a 3.0 24v 164 is the same as a 2.5 12v GTV6, so assume the 3.0 12v 164 is the same as well

Depends on what import paperwork the car was brought in under. If it is a "personal import" (LO3), no cats - otherwise, fit a cat for the plate and then maybe it can "fall of" after you drive away. Main thing to remember here is - do whatever the engineer who is certifying requir...

A while back but ... Lose the boot to the rear head and exhaust, add a power bulge and modify the chassis rail to fit the trans, then it's all uncle bob. I would still love to do this conversion but too many other things going at once means it probably won't ever happen  I guess a standard GTV6...

You can buy it, pulling the old one out is the difficult part.
Like I said, caused by too much belt tension and a blocked oil gallery. If your engine sounds like it is supercharged (that give away whine) but actually isn't, check that the tension is not too high and the detensioner is working.

Take a look at the distributor/oil pump drive pully and check if it is running true. I have had to replace a bearing in this due to too much belt tension - had about 3mm of float at the pulley and the angle that this caused would push the belt out on mine about as far as you are saying. Mine was cau...

A guy I used to work for was an X1/9 nut and he (still 14 years later) is doing an engine conversion on one. He has a Honda Type R motor going in but for a while is became a toss up between the type R and a 3.0 24v Alfa engine. We measured it up and with a small amount of massaging, it would have fi...

I used a 2.0 alfetta box behind a 2.5 V6 for years but be warned - drive it a little gently. They differ from the V6 and twinspark ones in one simple way - the alfetta ones only have 2 diff planetaries (spider gears) where the V6 & TS ones have 4 planetaries. Eventually I shattered a few teeth o...

Want less understeer ? You either need to reduce the rear roll (create oversteer) or increase the front roll. The V6 engine is perfect for balancing the under/oversteer. Trail throttle in - understeer, boot it mid corner - oversteer. As to 4 cylinder engines, I think the old saying goes "only m...
