Yes Mac, Barry is right you can buy them preassembled. You may still have to make some mods (ie fuel pump, or if you want to run ignition), but if you buy from one of the more experienced assemblers, and communicate to them exactly what you want, including documentation for your application (This si...

Ok guys thats good news. I kind of thought that, but Its nice to have some reassurance. One thing though is I have a 3.0 in my car, I have still read somewhere that the verde pulls like 50+ mph in 1st gear. I dont know if this is true, but if it is it would still lend to having a 4:10.

You know Im a little embarrased to say I dont know for sure. The car is slightly disasembled right now as I a fabing some brackets to hold 2 modern 12'' fans to the radiator in preperation for the HOT Florida summer so I wont be able to drive it till mid week. That being said If my memory is right I...

gearbox identification

When I bought my '82 GTV6 last year the P.O. told me that he had replaced the gearbox w/ an N.O.S. unit out of a Milano. I found his receipt for the labor to install the tranny but not for the tranny itself. My question is how can I figure out what final drive ratio it has w/o opening it up? I know ...

Actually I didn't pull the crank pully off, but that doesnt mean the former owner didnt. I just bought the car and am trying to sort it. With that being so should I now remove the pully and add a washer say 1/8'' thick to shim the belt out? Thanks Tommy

timing belt alignment

Does anyone have any ideas on how to align the timing belt in the center of the pullys? I have had a new belt on my car for about 3 weeks now and it is running about 1/16'' off the back sides of the cam pullys. Also it is running mega close to the waterpump in between the tensioner and distributor p...

Ok thank you both for your replys. I just got the engine pretty much back together. I ended up doing cam seals etc. I thought that maybe it was off around 1/2 a tooth so I was planning on filing the slots in the pulleys to realign the cams. It turns out it was off 1 full tooth! Can the engine run w/...

cam timing question

I recently purchased an 82' gtv6 w/ 3.0 liter engine. I have it torn down right now to do timing belt, adjust valves, etc. My question is this. When I bring the engine to TDC on #1 cylinder my left cam lines up perfectly w/ the factory indices. My right cam (intake side) however the marks are about ...

I'd be interested in your kit. Can I see some pics?
