plug Wires

Zambon, I'd go w the OEM wires. There is some superstition or perhaps truth that the wires have specific resistances. Also I don't know if you can get those super long boots from Magnecore. OT: I took the GTV6 out on Sunday for a 2-3 hour drive. It sounds great, gearbox is breaking in nice now. I ma...

might want to throw your question out to Andy at Performatek:

Since he does do the LSD rebuild and conversion. He ought to know:

Hey. I drove a punto a few years back in France and it was a fine
little car. 1.3 petrol motor and all. It could (even) get out of it's own
way and handled nice. nice interior. Certainly as nice as a Ford
Focus.

Running the Targa Newfoundland

Howdy,

might want to start a new thread on this. I'd be very interested in the process
of preparing to run the Targa. I have a goal to run in the Targa in 2011. I know
that's a ways off, but so is my car. Any updates on your progress ?

swat bar reinforcement plates. Coilover adapters continued

Yeah. I agree 100%. A 27mm sway bar would rip straight off. My GTV6 has a 20mm front right now, so a 24mm seems like it would be a good step up but not so much that I rattle all the other suspension parts off. Addco can make a 25mm sway bar but I have never seen anyone on the boards who use it. It l...

Campagnolo Wheels old v new

I have both types. I got a set of the 81 GTV6 wheels as they are made of a lighter alloy than the later wheels. In the brochures they call it "Elektron" if I recall. Anyway the earlier wheels are definitely lighter. About 14 lbs vs the later aluminum ones are closer to 17 lbs. I've heard t...

Coilover sleeves for yellow konis ?

Anyone done this, or have any good source for coilover adapter sleeves ? I'm wanting to stiffen up my front end a bit w/o going to huge torsion bars and sway bars. I'm thinking that coilover adapters and a Verde sway bar would stiffen the front up w/o ripping it apart. So I am looking for first hand...

How to buy a used 2.5 motor for $1000.00 USD

Denoya trading is trying again to sell a $500 GTV6 for ~$4500.00. I was doing my normal Ebay search "alfa gtv6" and there were 3 pages of stuff today. whoa ! Well upon examination I see that it is all courtesy of rezdoc AKA Denoya Trading company. I've never purchased from them so no 1st h...

double clutching

Hi Jes, thanks for the reply. I have owned the car for more than 3 years and have driven it on track numerous times the bad synchros. So I am able to double-clutch. I'm looking to make the car easier to drive though. Double clutching into the slow corners kills my time. I'm glad to have this skill, ...

Gearbox fix replace trade ?

Hello Alfisti, I have an 84 GTV6 2.5 that I've beaten the snot out of for the last 3 years. the 2nd gear synchro has been crunchy since I owned it. I've replaced the gear oil w Red Line a few times. Anyway this box is pretty tired. May need new bearings in addition to synchros. So it could be an exp...

rebuild

205/55/15 definitely worth it. Could even go 205/50/15 although your speedo will be off. 17" wheels on these cars look cheesy. Also don't lower the front w/o lowering the rear. it will make the handling funny. I ran my car w just the front lowered for awhile and it handled very strange. One I l...

swapping gears

I just purchased a 75/Milano Verde gearbox. I currently have the original GTV6 4.11 box and diff on my 84 gtv6. I wanted the taller 2nd and 3 gears on the verde, but the 3.55 rea makes those gears really tall. I was very frustrated on track by my 2nd running out at ~54mph. The milano w the 3.55 howe...

AC parts

Hi John,

I live in Denver too. I have an 84 black GTV6.
I've removed my AC compressor and other various AC
if you have need for any/all of it.
