Re: Need s some advice on an Alfetta GTV 3.2 V6 24v conversion

I have one of these quietly waiting in my project parts stash:

Re: Longe Alfetta GTV6 front wheel studs

ARP lists the target hole for these as 0.469 to 0.479 inches

Expect a 0.480inch reamer will be the size to use and still have some material for the splines to fit firmly?

Those studs are also a touch longer than your 60mm target but you can always cut them down a touch if needed…

Re: Longe Alfetta GTV6 front wheel studs

Hi Alfaaa1, Pretty sure you need studs with a 12mm knurl (spline) diameter along with the usual 12 x 1.5 thread. Here is a racing version that looks spot on for the length you want: https://www.simoniracing.com/en/10-forged-wheel-studs-12x15-l67mm You might try the ARP 7712, but the knurl diameter i...

Re: 24V Conversion - Flywheel Adapter Options

Hey Kevin - the car is still in metal so next step is the engine test fit, just need to fit up the sump so everything is protected…

…don’t forget to send me Stavros’s email :)

Cheers, K.

Re: 24V Conversion - Flywheel Adapter Options

Hi MD, I followed Kevin’s advice and positioned the trigger wheel on the front of the crank pulley. I’m keeping the serpentine belt arrangement (deleting the power steering pump), and the original harmonic pulley rubber is in great condition.Small amount of machining for a friction fit with grub scr...

Re: 24V Conversion - Flywheel Adapter Options

Hi Kevin - I can’t find that email anywhere, please send again (I’m not on Facebook 🙃) I’m discovering how hard it is to find a solid flywheel for the 24V 3.0 (ie to use with an adapter rather than the existing flex plate). AHM make a nice unit but expensive and heavy to ship down-under! Cheers, Keith

24V Conversion - Flywheel Adapter Options

Hi Guys, I’m working through the last of the engine mods for dropping a 3.0 litre 24V V6 into my GTV6 - donor engine is from a 1998 166 (automatic). It seems that there are options available now to use a CNC billet adapter plate on the 166 flywheel rather than rebalancing the original transaxle flyw...

Re: 166 24v into 116 GTV

Hey Kevin - did you fabricate the threaded tubes yourself or are they available somewhere “off the shelf” by chance??

Considering how slowly my build is progressing I could do with an easy addition to the parts bin :D

Cheers

I just PM Ed him on the 4x4 forum - no chance he is selling these, I just scored a “spare” adapter when he modified his design! Exceptionally talented fabricator....

Re: 166 24v into 116 GTV

Must be something in the air – I have also just started cutting out baffles to fit the 116 sump to a 166 24V: https://s25.postimg.cc/4jq9bmikv/Lower_sump4.png https://s25.postimg.cc/46yv5fslb/Lower_sump3.png PietereQ: that CNC file for the splash plate will be very welcome :D – PM sent I’m also head...
