Re: Engine smoking

Could be all of the above and it could also be bullshit receipts.
Do a compression test on all cylinders first.

Re: Fitting an electrical brake vacuum pump

An interesting proposition. Zamani experimenting with vacuum pumps... The reality is that the brake booster is just a convenience. It is not an essential item in the brake circuit. The fix is removing the booster and all the paraphernalia that makes it work and replacing it with an appropriate brake...

Re: Need help on the Alfetta GTV6 propshaft

Oh I see. I didn't think there was any difference in the length of the V6 and the 2.0 rear shaft section. Lets' face it, it starts at the centre bearing and has to fit into the distance where it meets the clutch input shaft. Since all the gearboxes in the coupes are mounted in the same place , it st...

Re: "Patches" MD's Final Racing Project

Hi Kevin, Good to hear from you. I don't recollect seeing your coil over set up. However I will just mention a couple of things. 1. The springs I use have a small radius 65mm ID. 2. The damper is an upside-down version so it requires little room below the UCA. These short and small diameter springs ...

Re: Steering rack

Geez Zamani I have had it wrong all these years. I thought fingers were for pickin' your nose. If the 75 rack and the column is installed together you can have height AND reach adjustment. Obviously be sure to have the ignition key that goes with the column ! A pump will help with low speed turns li...

Re: Hello from relocation to UK with my two South African GTV6's

Kevin,
I am confused. Bananas can be straight, thick, short, bent and in fact some people can go bananas but they are never red. Been losing some sleep over this, please explain.

Re: Steering rack

The 75 rack will fit subject to adjustments for the steering column length. It will also need an oil reservoir and made up hoses to supply lubrication. It does not require the steering pump to work.

Re: Need help on the Alfetta GTV6 propshaft

So Alfaaa1, five months on, got that sucker in and spinning? From memory the sedans are about 100mm longer in the wheelbase. That means that the 75 Shaft will be too long. It will require shortening bearing in mind the 3 mounting point locations. Front, centre and rear. Any decent workshop working wi...

Re: Building the supercharger to the engine (75 3.0V6)

I see you are a glutton for punishment.. :D There are many solutions depending on what application the car will be put into. Street, rally, racing ? For racing/rally, the best solution is to modify the flywheel to use a CV or a UJ. This is harsh on the transmission and will/may cause transmission ch...

Re: "Patches" MD's Final Racing Project

Hi Zamani, To the best of my knowledge, Daniel has either bought into (or considering doing) an engineering workshop. Last email I had from him suggested he was more busy than a one arm wallpaper hanger. Daniel has that quality about him that is creative, innovative, always up to the challenge. Love...

Re: "Patches" MD's Final Racing Project

Thank you Alfaaa1

I know the rims look a bit lame but the reality is that they are a true magnesium alloy and they are especially lightweight so function is taking priority over appearance. Thank you Mr Mazda.

OH Sheit. I was following Zamani's footprints in the snow and got lead up the garden path. Mostly cause I was fascinated by the snow. Only place you get snow in Oz is inside the ice cream freezer in the supermarket. I have tried to climb in to test my snow shoes from Amazon but I got kicked out by s...

Re: Building the supercharger to the engine (75 3.0V6)

Really useful torque curve. A better solution is to install a BMW V8 donut BUT you have to install a 1mm sleeve to every crush tube in the donut to step up to the 14mm bolt holes. To install it will require a serious circular clamp to squeeze it down for a close enough PCD. A prick of a job but they...
