Having done this excellent work, it would be really worth while to know in actual stopping distance how much of an improvement over the orignal system the new set up really is.

Doug, If you are sure that the rear bearings are not the culprits and I would think you would not expect to feel a huge amount of play, it could be something else. I have heard of a term called "end float" which refers to the differential I think. If I have this correct, excessive end floa...

Hi Don, Thanks for the compliments but cut it out. I'm going to get a swollen head ! I am surprised to see Zamani talking about such low octane fuel. Isn't 98 octane available in the US? My limited knowledge about your problem Don is that you need to settle on the compression ratio to satisfy either...

Twin Spark Engines

Seems I was only partially wrong with my claim of horsepower for the old 105 engines. I should have said the injected version instead of the carbie equipped ones. But the power output was correct @ 150 bhp. Check it out:- http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/frame.php?file=car.php&carnum=1441 General ...

Hi matt, Fortunately this incident did not occur with my car. The photos represent an Alfetta sedan I purchased to turn into a race car. I noticed this problem when I started to pull it down in preparation for the usual things you do to street vehicles to turn into dedicated track machines. Neverthe...

Johnny, I think you will find that you should be able to install the complete "A" frame with all the hardware in place in one go. Matter of fact I am about to make a jig that will do just that all in one go but in my case, I will use you a hoist to lower the car onto the assembly. You woul...

Major Safety Issue

I have said plenty already about how much I dislike the driveshaft make up in these cars but recently I discovered that a broken drive shaft is a potential death trap. Why is this so? It is so because when the driveshaft coupling/s let go, the driveshaft thrashes about under the transmission tunnel ...

Well, the planning and thought that has gone into building that "bike" is just awesome. Not to mention the engineering skills to make it happen. Barry, I take it to be just an exercise in sheer fun to see if it could be done? Thanks for the pics by the way. It's one of the most amusing eng...

Totally agree. For a street car, supercharger is the sweetest option. May not develop the insane power of turbo but sure is usable power when it comes on song.

MJ Agree with majority. Except. Don't suggest changing ride height. It will just give you more dramas to sort out and London to a brick ,you will be putting it back to where it was. Cheaper choice anyway. Spend the money elsewhere where it will count. Mild supercharging would be better value. Otherw...

MJ A question like this gets a wide range of responses for obvious reasons. Here's mine : If your criteria is similar ride comfort to the original then you need to stick with the original "spring" rates. However, you should increase your front sway bar size to reduce body roll. Increasing ...
