If you didn't line up the balancing marks upon taking it apart and then replaced it in exactly the same position, you could have an out of balance vibration from the flywheel/clutch assembly.

Where is the vibration coming from? The rear of the car or under the floor generally?

Hi Rob, Don't know where you live but my work in Australia to intergrate a 164 loom into a former 2 litre loom only cost about $350 AUS. Works like a charm. I never have electrical problems. Get an 85 amp alterantor to start with and rework every ground connetion on the car. Apply anticorrosion gel ...

Hi Baz, Mate I never have a problem with anyone speaking their opinion as it is the only way we bring some level of debate into forums like this and that is always a good thing. Civility being the key along the way. I do get a nasty dose of the weird smelly stuff that runs down the inside leg of my ...

I looked into those can of worms and guess what I saw.

A bunch of white coated Honda engineers at their own plant walking around the factory floor to examine piece by piece the latest Ferrari to see what makes it tick. (True Story)

Any prick can be an engineer when someone shows you how.

Sanity Baz is a relative thing. That is not to say some of your relatives have more that you. Frankly, I wouldn't know but what I strongly suspect is that your Guru cousin over there in sunbaked Greece has a couple of cuttlery items missing from the picnic set! :D ...I promise it's the last off topi...

Sometimes it is just as cost effective to bite the bullet and get an auto electrician to reloom the car as required by completely cutting out sections and making up a fresh loom for the job. Cars that are as old as the GTV's can have many owners over time and you just never know what one of the owne...

Don't forget the 116 series odometers go to 99,999 and then reset to zero. It is therefore possible that this car has done:-

25,000 Miles as claimed or it has done :-
125,000
225,000
325,000 and so on but it would only display 25,000

Stuff you lot. I am investing in a well greased TD taxi and race you on the autobahn. If its action you want, come and get it ! Knowing how far out all your timing is, by the time you get there, I will have vanished like a fa*t but that's life in the fast lane when you drive a TD taxi and a hot wenc...

Appreciate your candid response. I have been considering buying one and wondered about the benefits. One of the great things about this forum is that it is a huge test bed of different things that owners do to their cars. It's almost as if you have thought of it ,someone has already done it ! Thanks...

So Al, what bars are you using front and rear now? Do you have coil overs or just torsion bars?
