More gauges. If your original pressure regulator is not working this one fits in same holes and is very good. It's always recommended by manufactures not to leave the fuel pressure gauge permantly connected.

Re: South African GTV 3.0 - All info, parts and manuals

These are pics of the wide band PLX lambda set up I bought. I have put a bung in both down pipes for each bank to make sure one side is not leaner. You just gotta jack car up and swap around during testing. It looks a bit messy but as its not a permant gauge its will just sit on passenger seat with ...

Re: South African GTV 3.0 - All info, parts and manuals

I am slowly getting this info together. The process can be costly however if you look at the value of the car these days and how the carbs are the heart of ii, it then makes sense to get the necessary tools and gauges in order to get them spot on . Even well worn carbs can be resurrected with the av...

Re: Hello from relocation to UK with my two South African GTV6's

I decided to lower the front ride height as it was ridiculously to high. Even after dropping it plus minus 20-25mm it’s still pretty conservative but this suits the 16” replica Compomotives. Final ride height is now 165mm under front jacking points. I had a half day to do this with no hoist so doubl...

Re: South African GTV 3.0 - All info, parts and manuals

PRE-STRIP DOWN . As this title suggests there are definitely some areas that should be checked and analysed before you pull the carbs apart . With any extra info of the problem areas it helps to give a closer look when doing that particular carb or if it’s an over all problem like a misfire on one c...

Re: South African GTV 3.0 - All info, parts and manuals

Hi . Some good news is I have now completed my third set of carbs for the GTV 3.0 with help form my mate Jose (aka Powermods) who has been staying over here in the UK between work contracts and getting his covid jabs. So the good news these carbs are really good and the car is a pleasure to drive . ...

Re: Hello from relocation to UK with my two South African GTV6's

MD, aaaah yes to clear up any confusion there is a simple explanation. However I won't tell you right now as you have been half asleep most of your life and I am waiting for your sleep pattern to resync.

Re: "Patches" MD's Final Racing Project

MD, just a question on that coil over. I could never start the spring so low down near the lower A arm because it would clash with the steering arm that comes off the stub axe so it had to start like 60mm higher . If I could have solved that then I would not have needed to open up the upper control ...

Re: Hello from relocation to UK with my two South African GTV6's

It is a red a vinyl tape which was UV protected. I don’t think it looks good when the bumpers are like bananas but it’s an 80s thing and original part to the GTV3.0 so I keep it. Even had part number on packet along with red sticker on the chrome heart.

Re: Hello from relocation to UK with my two South African GTV6's

Last up on the rear end was the watts linkage . As you cannot get the original bushes which I prefer, I had no choice but to use the aftermarket poly bushes . They are really good but nothing wrong with the shor hardness of the OEM part. One these were stripped out it can be seen I wasted my time as...

Re: Hello from relocation to UK with my two South African GTV6's

Normally this time of the year I head back to SA but as this was not possible I had some of my old race parts shipped over to me . Also some nice laser cut toys . If anyone is looking for coupling cages I have three left . You only need one to go on the front coupling as I have found that takes the ...

Re: Hello from relocation to UK with my two South African GTV6's

Next up was the rear calipers . This I had no choice as I had a leak in the left one and thought either I service one and then wait for the other to leak OR just replace both with new calipers. My old calipers were still in lovely shape with zero corrosion so I found them a new home with someone who...
