help finding why my GTV6 runs lean after warmup

My 84 GTV6 has started running lean at idle and a fluctuating idle speed. I have an Autometer fuel air meter installed and until recently showed good mixture, now it goes full lean after warmup at idle. So far I have checked fuel pressure, 34psi at idle up to 40 when rev engine. Throttle switch is a...

Re: any tricks to replacing the rack in a GTV6

Thanks guys. I havent posted on here in quite a while as my GTV6 has been doing very well. It seemed easy enough to remove, but I've "assumed" things like this before and had it bite me.

Re: any tricks to replacing the rack in a GTV6

Its the original manual rack. I looked closer at it last night and it looks easy enough, 4 bolts and a really tight fit. I'm thinking I'll have to remove the exhaust headers to make it easier to get at the mounting bolts and it should slide out the left (drivers) side. I think the rack guide bushing...

Another thing to check is the booster check valve on the plenum. On the GTV6 and Milano these tend to get clogged internally because of the location on the plenum(Spiders use the same valve just located different on the intake manifold), just clean it out with carb cleaner. This could cause the spor...

You need the pressure in the system to raise the boiling point of the coolant. Drilling a hole to reduce this pressure is not a good idea as the tank is part of the pressurized system. It may have worked for you, but I wouldnt recommend anyone trying this.

I have had problems fitting theSZ headers on my 2.5. The flange hits the steering rack on the right side and one of the tubes rub on the left front fender bracing. The motor mounts are new, anyone else have this happen?

What front pipes to use with SZ headers

I have a set of the stainless SZ headers, will these bolt up to the "euro" front pipes or do I have to have the front pipes custom made on the GTV6?

Anybody use one of the small K&N filters over the fitting on the valve cover and just plug off the hose to the intake? I know its not smog legal, but maybe keeping all this oil out of the rubber intake hose would make them last longer before cracking???

IAP has #14231 listed as the switch with 4 main wires(larger diameter wires), the smaller 2 wires you mentioned are for the key in ignition buzzer, not all switches include this anymore, I have mine unplugged, the buzzer was too annoying. Also, my car, 84 gtv6, uses the 4 wire switch but one of the ...
