clunk when clutch comes up

Hey guys,

Wondering if anyone can help me diagnose a noise.

When I have the car in first gear and i let off the clutch and the
first gear starts to engage I get a clunk type noise. Almost like there's play in the drivetrain or something. Any ideas?

I had to remove the rear seats...and also remove the rear insulation that sits behind the seat back. Then i had access to the nuts for the top of the shocks. I had to also g...

Billy,

Thanks for the reply,

did you mean removing the vertical part on the rear seat? I'm going to give it a try sometime this week. I'll let you know how it goes.

have you inspected your AAV. This item helps out w/ cold starts. There's a temperatre sensative spring in it that opens and closes depending on the temperature.

It is a cheap compression gauge. I should try it out on another car. Aside from the compression gauge. What else could cause this effect?
Any Ideas?
Thanks

wow, I finaly got the timming belt covers off. What a battle. I had to remove one of the colant sensors the top colant hose and the A/C belt. There's defintely a oil leak somewhere around there. It's going to be tricky to figure out where it's comming from. It looks like it might be coming from the ...

Murray,
thanks for the image! I need to get a hold of a manual.
It looks like i've removed the 2 bolts plus the third one connecting both sides. So I take it I do not have to remove the A/C belt. I just have to wiggle it out.

thanks
