I dont rekon they are factory original. I think the dealers did that. I remember seeing various new fords in the uk with colourful badges like that. when I asked about it at my main dealer, they told me that dealerships sometimes do that. Its easy to do. ( well on the ford badges anyway). You just t...

Jimgreek, have to agree there. 7000 is plenty enough and realistic for fast road and some track and probably reasonably reliable, and 6500-7000 is what I am looking at with this spare engine. As you say, I find it hard to visualise how the 12v 2.5 or 3.0 heads could breathe past 8000rpm, maybe you w...

hmm, So although A very high mark up on retail prices, they are still a good price and specification by the soundsof it. I had thaught about balancing the standard rods and shot peening, for about 7000 rpm but that will cost me about 300 euro anyway, plus buying new rods. These are rated to 8000. I ...

shortlife it sounds as if you have replaced all the spark side, then. to confirm, your car doesnt have a crank/flywheel sensor? the only iffy area seems to be the ignition module, since you dont have a proven one. interesting that your cap and rotor are deteriorating very fast though. This was commo...

Shortlife. yes thats a good start :D . but just take your time and change one thing at a time, then test. start with the coil only as you said. if that makes no difference, then change the HT leads (including the rotor HT lead), then the cap and rotor, lastly the plugs. each time testing. leave the ...

ok, so you have replaced the AFM, and coil (a standard 12v oil filled is fine) and the ECU. and you are sure that all the LT wiring is in good condition, earthing, and the fusebox and wiring and ecu plug are all good because you have checked them all.(greg gordons earthing article is worth going thr...

shortlife, so you have eliminated bad earths, crimps and wiring. But I think re-wiring the car is premature. The 87 bits are no different to the 83 in principle, its the same system, bar one or two small differences. maybe its time to go back to basics first, as we can all get tunnel vision with the...

:? the gtv6 ignition system is plenty reliable in my experience, but sounds like possible terminal/crimp corrosion to me, earthing issues. Maybe inspect your fuse box and wiring termination.

Front inner panel.

Hi all, after recently removing my front radiator for rebuild, I found some hidden rot in the front inner panel, that the radiator attches to. As I started to dig out the rot, I quickly realised that the panel is screwed, and needs replacing., Its only rotten just in front of the radiator, so I can ...

because the ansa system sounds fantastic and has adequate flow, so why mess with the design when it sounds so fantastic
