Re: Mats Strandberg (SWE)
have to agree matts. as much as I love the 116's, they do feel so so dated now, I have been contemplating selling my GTV6 and replacing with and E46m3. I have also been looking for a 96 wide body 155 v6 for dossing about in, for well over a year with no luck here in the UK. Your onr is so nice..

Re: SUSPECT CTS??
well replaced AFM, no difference. found a fault in the TPS though, so swapped that out for a good one, and gas analyser went fron 8% co2 warmed up to 0.7% co2 warmed up!!!, but car still runs bad at idle, now on the lean side instead of way too rich. when on the analyser the co2 is up and down from ...

Re: SUSPECT CTS??
its going in next thursday to be plugged into gas analyser, so we can see exactly what it is running like at idle, ie high low hydros etc. the afm will be swapped then, and I'll let the garage test the injectors, as I havent got the time to.

Re: SUSPECT CTS??
well no miracle cure yet. old fuel filter was fairly clean. new filter connected up, car has the same problem. went for adjusting the AFM air bypass screw, only to find it is wound all the way in already (closed), adjusting it back the other way (opening it) just makes the car run even worse on idle...

Re: SUSPECT CTS??
no stupid suggestions here, I am open to all ideas, and trying them! :) the battey is good. I know, because It turned the engine over 15-20 turns with the CTS disconnected, without even struggling. I have got as far as removing the fuel filter, but the hoses won't come off, so I'll have to cut them ...

Re: SUSPECT CTS??
have checked the cts wires, and zero resistance. so all good there. Have also removed the ecu, and there is no corrosion at all, even the pins are bright and shiny. I will replace the fuel filter this week. if that doesnt work, then I'm going to the local garage to plug in the exhuast gas analyser, ...

I would like to check the AFM, but dont know how, asides from taking the lid of and visually inspecting it. What is the adjustment procedure on it to get it within factory tolerance?. Any offical t...

Re: SUSPECT CTS??
haven't checked the fuel pressure yet. I need to get my hands on a pressure gauge. Im ordering a new fuel filter today too. just seems odd that the problem has started after changing the water pump, where both CTS and TTS would have been disturbed. Re the CTS. thinking about it, as the coolant gets ...

SUSPECT CTS??
Hi all. After a recent water pump change my 83 GTV6 is running rough on tick over and smells very very rich indeed. no problem I thaught, and I went through all the hoses, didn't find any air leaks. pulled the ecu, checked ecu connections, checked and cleaned all grounds, checked CSI for leakage, ch...

Re: Angel Eye Headlights
hmm, so it can be done. lots of questions though :) 1) how did you attach the BMW projector unit to the cut down alfa reflector? 2) are the new lenses glued onto the alfa reflector bodies or could you use the original stainless ring? 3) Did you have to make any changes to the alfa switch relay and w...

Re: Vibration after propshaft overhaul - (hanger bearing?)
can you get your hands on a stroboscope? its basicaly a flashing light, very similar to a timing gun. It is used to spot inbalance in propellor blades. if you can get your hands on one of these little units, simply start the car on stands, get underneath and point the strobe at the propshaft. if the...
