Rear Seat Belts - GTV6, an option.
Hi all, This is just for info. I've been trying to get a set of factory rear 3 point seat belts for my GTV6 but it appears they are about as common as poultry dentists. (I know they exist as a friend has them in his 84 GTV6.) Previously I had rear lap belts from a scrap yard VW Polo! Also I'm told t...

lol yeah the map could be wrong!!! Except it was done on a dyno, using their WB - also an innovate unit - so I'm confident it's pretty much OK. I only put the thing on in readiness for future tweaks to save going back to the dyno shop each time. Amusingly at one point my LC-1 reported an AFR of 2:1 ...

I've an innovate LC-1 on mine, but can't currently get it to report correctly on the MS software, it currently flits between ludicrous end of scale readings but occasionally just reads bang on stoic for a couple of seconds !!! Not sure why yet, but no doubt it's something I've done wrong. I just nee...

Could be any of a few things: Check the stim instructions to make sure that grounding XG1 is compatible with the stim (this is nagging at my memory from somewhere but could be a red herring). The increased resistance 1k5 instead of 390 and the bigger diode MIGHT be reducing the weak stim signal enou...

Barry is correct as always :D Set it up on falling edge as that is a stronger transient signal and gives a completely stable trigger point as rpm changes. There's an oscilloscope trace somewhere on the MS site backing this up, shows a clean almost vertical transient. Sounds like you have the gist of...

Hi Murray, Just picked up this thread and there's some interesting stuff here! The trigger for MS can be any number from (I think) zero to 90 crank degrees before TDC. But bear in mind the dizzy rotates at 1/2 engine speed, then your drawing would be to far advanced. The drawing definately shows it ...

Engine statistics
Hi all, Does anyone have physical statistics for the Alfa V6's? ie: Max Dimensions of full engine (12v and 24v) Engine weight with or without ancillaries (12v and 24v) Just asking out of curiosity as someone I know is considering shoehorning a 164 sourced 3.0 24v into a lotus Elise ! My opinion was ...

Hi I made the air box - it's just some thin aluminium sheet cut to shape and out of sight of the photo it also directs the factory cold air duct into the airbox with the filter, topped off with some household (fire retardent!) draught excluder along the top to seal against the bonnet. Very straightf...

Sounds like you've some evil gremlins in there ! Hard to diagnose from the info to hand, but for what it's worth it sounds like you should start looking for either an electrical problem, or a major air leak. Although the garage should have spotted these (assuming they know what they are doing!). Unl...
