I wouldn't go cheap on this as this is a weak link and considering the work involved. I did mine recently and got it from Andy at Performatek. It's a Buggati OEM unit. It was around $120 USD last summer.

Oh yeah. Changing this TB is a breeze. You otta see what it takes to do a Maserati Biturbo! There's NO timing marks so dial indicators are required. The belt tensioner takes special attention to get it correct.

Thanks. I'll take a look at the distributor/oil pump pulley and see if the bearing is OK or not. Makes sense this could be the culprit. Is the bearing available seperate for this pulley?

Nope, the old belt was in the same position.

I inhereted the motor in this condition. I was told that an Alfa mechanic owned this car and I can believe it from the work done. It's got the updated tensioner and appears to be correct except the alignment.
