x-rad, You're too frikin much. How about a new bar? David, My stories not as touching as yours albeit similar. I owned an'83 Silver/Blue from '84 til '91 which I put 90k abused miles on her. I purchased her with 5k from the VP of Behr of America (manufacturers for theis A/Cs & BMW at the time) f...

These projects seem overwhelming, but to eat an elephant, it's one bite at a time. It's well worth the hard work. I'd keep your friend's dog away from the parts. I don't think the 'lubricant' will be appropriate for them....

Keep us informed of the progress.

I was checking out the TB today and tried to reposition it by sliding it more centered on the pulleys. No luck after cranking the motor. I don't like it sticking past the pulleys and it's too damn close to the crank pulley for my comfort as well. Inspection of the front crank seal and I think I can ...

x-rad,

Haven't R & R'd the crank seal as I've just justified it's failed condition. I also have not verified the belt's alignment guide. I'll finger this one out as other issues with this motor.

Well, I just fitted these Sportiva 16 x 7 rims with 225/50/16 Yokes. I have a Sport suspension; Koni Sport dampers & Fr/Rr lowered. TIGHT fit!!!! A little ingenuity and a couple of whacks with the BFH did it. I think these are period correct for the car like a lot of the others shown. Ride is gr...

Garth,

Forgot to state that if you need some assistance for the locating the fans down under, let me know. There's some serious Biturbo gearheads from there locally, Aussies, on a specific forum.

Garth, Here's a good & easy solution for cooling. My Maserati Biturbo has a pair of air-to-air intercoolers in front of the condenser and radiator like you are doing. Get a tropicaire A/C radiator fan set up (or the others will do) from a late Biturbo. It will literally fit the GTV6 radiator. It...

allalfa, From the fotos, the coil & lead look pretty knarly. I saw your older post asking about the coil's output. Have you checked for proper spark at the plugs? Your coil lead may not be allowing enough current and/or the coil's weak or bad as well or a combination. I've had this problem and a...

Timing Belt Position on Pulleys

I recently did a water pump & timing belt R & R. When I pulled the covers, I noticed the old timing belt was not riding completely on the pulleys. When installing the new belt, I slid it to about center of the pulleys. Now it's back to the front of the pulleys approx. 1mm over the front with...

I was chatting with APE a while back when I was sourcing a 3.0 motor. They said they liked the 2.5 ECU better. You might want to give them a call about this as I'd be interested when I finally get my 3.0 rebuilt and installed.

I can do whatever I want in MY kitchen. I don't get any more complaints about the cars or the jealous "you love your damn cars more than me I sometimes think" comments. Sold the wife. Cars are cheaper.

x-rad, Thanks for the foto. What I'll do is to get the front cover gasket and seal then make the decision when I get in there. Ironic, I just had to do the water pump & timing belt due to the leak. I didn't have the luxury of taking the time to do this seal issue as the GTV6 is the only runner w...

Thanks again, Mats. I really don't like molesting non-leaking parts if I do not see the need. I figured this may be the case as most of this type of seal circumstance allows the front of the seal to protect the back side from exposure to adverse elements.

Greg's info states the stock injectors at 17.6pph @ 2.5 bar. That's basically what I was thinking. I'll want to increase the injectors when I do my 3.0 build-up.
