Maurizio: Why not the one-way to the brake booster? Yep, thought of that one too, have several one-way valves laying around for testing. But the problem is finding a hose (exhaust to valve) which can stand the heat. The valve I posted is somehow designed to isolate the heat. You are getting rid of ...

If you want to experiment with gaining some additional power (1-3% as they say), you can dump the vapor hose in the exhaust pipe at an angle (so there's a constant suction) and the crankcase will operate in a a 'vacuum', minimizing windage losses! Guess what I am brewing lately, I’m still loo...

Believe me the three bolts will deflect.
Only I don't know what is worse, the engine torque or the rpm.

Image

The rubber bits have a real hard life, between the bolts they are buckled by the torque and forced to fly out by the rpm.

:) I'm just plain stubborn, (that's why I stick with alfa's) so for me it just depends on the applied N/mm^2 . A plain example, how about alloy wheels....... But one thing is true looking at fatigue steel wins! But I don't want to start an huge discussion so guys take the easy and safe route u...

This kind of fastener needs a very stable material to not relax with time, alu will just not do. A good point, on the nut side & washer side not a problem but the guibo has not such a nice contact surface. Was thinking of making some supports for a long time. Now I have the TS drive shaft out, ...

You actually could just use a good quality aluminum plate of 1 mm thick. You want to add stiffness in the radial direction of the bolts and a low stiffness in the nut direction so that the plate can form and take tolerances when assembling. The trick is that the plate has a in plane stiffness which ...

I converted a 75 ts ps rack to non ps. Just put the oil out, fill with grease and put a balance tube between the left and right chamber.
I think I have seen it on several dutch trofeo cars and the milano of Greg Gordon's father?

Will have too see what it brings :-)

OK, thanx for info. Make allowance for valve/piston clearance....not only at TDC Exclamation Checked the valve clearance in the design again and have theoretically on intake 2.47 mm and exhaust 2,34 at TDC when taking the C&B race cam, with a 1.6 mm gasket thickness, Cam Lift IN Cam Lift EX Valv...

For my TS bottom end project, I'm making a list of new parts. http://alfagtv6.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=40&sid=ba4769e29cd773cfdf030030cf581183 is a nice list as guide. I have three questions. 1) As I'm rebuilding a 4 cil no timing belt but a chain. Do you guys replace the gear wheels of the timing...

Yes, chassis is designed to work with torsion bars! Jim's setup will give a progressive stiffness, is suspension travel > 1 cm the coil spring will start to assist. My car is mainly track use (coil-over, not RS, but basically the same): I did lower the car about 1~2 cm to deep for what I wanted and ...

Guys you are forgetting something! The soft (helper) springs only make sure your main spring doesn't float when the suspension is unloaded (driving over a bump, curb etc...). Like Mats already said. It should always be there, suspension travel is more then the unloaded main spring length. As far as ...
