Cream on Oil Cap

Hi Guys, I went to look at a GTV6 today, which I might want to buy. It hasn't had an oil change for about 18 months, and has been sitting outside, not started, for the past 3 months. It's winter here and there has been a lot of snow and sub-zero temperatures lately. When I took the oil filler cap of...

Why does the picture gallery end in 2004? Does everybody have an ugly car these days?

OK, unplugging the wires from the column switch doesn't make the lights go out, so it isn't the switch. Careful examination of the wiring diagram shows a modification to the Milano wiring from 1987 onwards involving 2 relays in the circuitry for the low beam headlamps. After ripping half the dashboa...

Aaaargh!! Something is very wrong with my electrics. Brake lights on/off reversed, headlights coming on on their own and now something is draining the battery dead flat even with the haunted headlights disconnected. Tried taking the headlight column switch apart, but it all looks and tests OK. Gonna...

Thanks guys but er..... where is the headlamp relay? I can't find it anywhere in the owner's manual, nor in the wiring diagrams on my CarDisc CD. I've tried pulling out every square electrical box I can find in the engine bay, but no success! Any pointers?

Headlamp poltergeist

I parked my car at work at lunchtime yesterday, i.e. with headlamps switched off. Came out at 6pm to find the headlights were on, although the stalk switch was still in the off position. Tail lights were not only, only headlights. Battery had gone dead so needed a jump-start. Headlights now permanen...

OK, most sensible alfistsi will have heart failure over this. After much hunting around I still couldn't find a reason for the brake lights being on/off the wrong way round from usual. Eventually took a pair of scissors and cut the flanges off the connector which plugs into the switch, allowing me t...

Brake light on/off reversed!!

The brake lights on my 75/Milano stopped working a few days ago. Bulbs tested OK. I looked under the dashboard and the switch on the pedal wasn't even toucing the pedal. That seemed at bit odd, as surely that should mean the lights would be fixed ON. I removed the switch and opened it up. There seem...

Carbon fibre cloth generally doesn't go too well with conventional polyester resins. For most applications epoxy is the way to go. West and SP Systems both make good products. Vacuum bagging is possible for diy-ers using a converted pump from a refrigerator, but simply weighing down the curing lamin...

Personally, I'd rather have the old one.

75 / milano seats

The original drivers seat on my 1992 75 3.0V6 is completely knackered. Anybody know which aftermarket seats would be an easy fit? I used to have a 75 TS LE with factory-fitted Recaro's. Anybody fitted aftermarket Recaro's?

Once you've built your 400hp motor for your 23 year old car, don't forget you're also going to have to uprate your wheels, tyres, brakes, suspension, transmission, bodywork, guages and life insurance policy. (Particularly your life insurance - my 14 year old 75 with only 200bhp is anything but foolp...
