Re: DIY close ratio transaxle
Thanks for the input. I’ll have to go through some spare gearboxes and see if I have the right ones.

DIY close ratio transaxle
Hi, has anyone out there done the diy close ratio box as mentioned in Jim k’s V6 book?
I have a pile of spare transaxles but before I go ripping through them it would be great to hear from someone who has made a successful one.
Thoughts or suggestions welcome.

Re: C&B 24v cams
Hi Jim, thanks for the reply.
I thought they would have gone, but worth asking.
I’ll do some research about local options first to save some cams doing all that travel.
If that fails I’ll get in contact to discuss things further.
I appreciate the help.

Re: Bending front stub axles ?
i used to to have issues with my rotor rubbing on the upright due to play in the bearing/stub. the issue was cured by changing my bearing tension technique, i used to just use feel and a bit of sense, but since using the factory recommended bearing set up and changing to the 75 ts uprights the issue...

Re: Bending front stub axles ?
i always thought the 2 litre cars had different stub axles. or maybe just the older 2 litre ones.
i have been using ones from a 75ts with next to no clearance between the rotor and upright with no issues.

Re: Hydraulic Release Bearing Install.
nothing wrong with soaking up other peoples solutions!! here is the adapter, its nothing flash. its made of steel so it was easy to weld, but im thinking of going to ali as its much lighter. the steel version is quite heavy. photo-9.JPG also the front of the gearbox with the release bearing shaft re...

Hydraulic Release Bearing Install.
so at the request of kevin, ill try and document how i went about installing a hydraulic release bearing and 7.25" twin plate clutch. one of the biggest problems with using a strengthened pressure plate or racing clutch is that the release fork is often not strong enough to cope with the extra ...
