Re: Random Engine Torque Measuring Ideas............

But crazy off topic banter is what this forum is about.
That and Alfa.

Re: Random Engine Torque Measuring Ideas............

Z, there are specific velocity probes so no problem. The question is what combination of velocity/flow you want! If you increase flow with porting it does not necessarily mean you also increase velocity. It may remain unchanged or even drop if you hog out the ports. To arrive at conclusive results ...

Re: Random Engine Torque Measuring Ideas............

Yeah, the load cell equipped tailshaft is probably the best, but the pure cost of them.................... Motec supply them for the V8 Supercars to help keep the parity of all of the different engines. Any load measuring engine mount would only be in place for testing purposes. My main thin...

Random Engine Torque Measuring Ideas............

While pondering the purpose of the universe (maybe), a random idea lodged itself inside my noodle................. With the amount of give in 3 rubber couplings, could it be possible to monitor the torque induced difference between the engine's output and the clutch housing's input to give a meaning...

Re: Best standalone ecu system

Re: Jim K. 3.2 engine

The reason I asked is that getting a 2.5 litre 24 valve is easy enough. But they are, as far as I can tell, the later engines. So building a 24 valve engine (obviously need new 3 litre 24 valve pistons) with 2.5 litre heads is out of the question because of the oil pump.

Re: Jim K. 3.2 engine

Yes they are huge on the 3/3.2. There's a thought to find some 2.5liter heads and measure those, but nobody has a set laying around here. I will not epoxy or otherwise weld the ports to increase velocity for fear of little lumps detaching... I have however thought of the possibility of fitting suit...

Re: Project 2 : front mount SA GTV 3.0 - Sei diff

Love your "extended" noise control measures Kev. :D My experience with slide on fixings is not that good. If corrosion sets in, they will bind up and become a pain. That is why my system is fully flanged in key sections and captive nuts welded to one of the flanges. I use stainless bolts and an ant...

Nice!
But when are you going to fix those overly large 24V ports??? :wall: :wall: :wall:

How about titanium bolts?
I found some on ebay in 1.25 pitch.

Re: LCA bolt failure?

Is there a 'crush tube' inside the chassis rails that the LCA bolts pass through?

Chassis flex is 1 thing, but bolts coming loose because of load (chassis rail being compressed/distorted) is another..................

Need more information, like the internal diameter.

Anti-roll bars/swaybars aren't a handling answer when done by themselves.

Oh, you want mature??? How about printed titanium variable geometry turbine housings? He only tells you about them with some quick, simple footage, but 8) :D
