Re: 24v cam timing adjustment

Mate do you have a photo of the puller?

The pulley you have is different from the 164 24V pulley but in principle it should work the same. I'm looking to buy a 3-jaw puller

Re: 24v cam timing adjustment

That’s is the ONE thing that I’m scared of. I once tried to take a pulley off a 24v pulley from a cam, and the puller couldn’t get it off. Luckily the cam was out of the engine, so eventually a press was used. How do the workshops deal with stuck pulleys on an FWD car? Especially the rear bank, it w...

24v cam timing adjustment

Guys, Exhaust cam for cyl 1,2,3 is a wee bit off the mark. Question is, can I get away with 1-lock the 3 of the cams 2-mark the cam belt cogs and the pulley teeth with a white-marker, 3-release the tensioner, 4-Partially unmount the belt on exhaust cam 1,2,3 pulley 5-Undo exhaust cam 1,2,3 from the ...

Re: "Patches" MD's Final Racing Project

G’day MD,

Thanks but what about your front hub conversion. Would like to see that as well. 5x114.3 is a very smart move.

Re: "Patches" MD's Final Racing Project

Hey MD,

What's the bolt patterns for your wheels? Is it 5x100mm? Looks like it's redrilled, longer studs and a 10mm spacer fitted

Re: "Patches" MD's Final Racing Project

Yeah I remember the days when the AUD was low, maybe almost 2:1, back in early 2000ish when I brokered a deal with a few friends and bought 10 (TEN) Autronic systems from Joe Beninca, He and I became best friends after that  . But yeah he always answer all my questions for the past 20 years :D ...

Re: "Patches" MD's Final Racing Project

Let me ask Larry at Alfa Parts exchange if he has those. Usually people don't look for those so I'm guessing he has a bunch. Will let you know the price.

Re: "Patches" MD's Final Racing Project

Why don't you race this car with an Alfa nord engine? Good chance you'll win uncontested. #CoronaBug

Re: Coolant system pressure testing

The stock 75 coolant cap is about 10 psi only. I have pressurized it to 12 psi using the 164 Cap (1-bar). That’s should be good enough. Hoping the bloody HG doesn’t blow again.

Coolant system pressure testing

Have any of you guys done pressure testing on your coolant system. I used a bicycle pump, a cheap pressure gauge, T- fitting, and tube valve. I then pressurized the system to about 8 psi to check for leaks. Particularly all those damn water plugs and hose clamp areas. Found a few small leaks here an...
