x-rad, I recently installed a 75 (Milano) transaxle in a late 84 non-isostatic GTV6. The 75 transaxle has the same final drive ratio but taller 1st and 2nd which is what the GTV6 needed with the 3.0L motor. Had to do the following; 1. Shorten and bend the 75 shift rod to match a GTV6 iso shift rod (...

Brian, I've scanned and converted to pdf the first wiring diagram from the original owners manual (1984 I think). There are 4 other diagrams with index, so if the first one is ok I can do the rest and put them all into a file. Using the magnifying feature on the pdf, wire coding and colours seem not...

Tim, The thing to remember here is that the tensioner actually de-tensions the belt, so higher oil pressure at idle won't help. The tensioner actually goes into full de-tension immediately the engine starts when cold, so has nothing to do with engine temperature and I would suspect stays that way ev...

95 amp replacement.
The Bosch alternator # 9 120 060 041 (stamped - Made in Australia) is a 95 amp bolt on replacement. It was installed in the Alfa 75 2.5L I recently scrapped. It was dirty and I almost threw it out as I have a couple of spare 65 amp alternators. I just happened to look at the part number and the amp ...

Still to be painted, I took it for a test run in the other 3.0L.

Update
AC compressor mount was moved back about 10mm and now all lines up perfectly. I'm not sure if I'll get enough "wrap" around the crank pulley but if this is a problem, I'll run a longer belt and change the adjustment pulley. I made a small cover over the top of the timing belt mainly to run...

Update
Just an update on the project so far. The engine is just about completed. Higher flow injectors are on their way and the MS components for converting the V2.2 board for spark are being ordered. A few issues to overcome when using the 3.0L crank pulley and water pump as the pulley sizes and alignment...

164 TDC
I'm ready for a test engine assembly to check piston to valve clearance.
On the 164 can someone tell me what is used to check TDC. The 164 front pulley has a mark on it that lines up roughly near the crank sensor.

Carson, Here's a link on how to check what's on the cylinder head. There's one on the rear of the RH head. It's also on the block behind the starter motor but that's a bit hard to see. It will either show 2.5 or 3.0. The 3.0L head also has a smaller 2 S mark on it which does look a bit like 2.5 http...
