Hi Matt Geez mate, if I ever saw a mistake in slow motion, this has to be it. With people in the know, you have a very desirable car and worth every cent. Ask yourself this question: How much is the alfa going to be worth as a collector's item in 20 years time vs the Prius? The name Pirus alone woul...

IF you want to experiment with some fine tuning on boost and pedal travel, I would suggest a 25 mm MC and the 2.0 ATE servo. From memory (dare I say it) an early Nissan Patrol MC is about the right one. Sacrelidge I know. Just don't tell anyone you got the tip from me !!

joey My contribution to your questions is limited to this. I run the standard GTV6 callipers but use the original GTV2.0 master cylinder and ATE booster. The perfomance of the brakes is almost identical to the previous 2.0 litre set up in street application. Front to rear balance remains unchanged. ...

Mats Apology accepted without reservation. I am happy to see that you have also got right back on track with the technical debate which this forums is for. ..and yes, I do agree that there are "horses for courses" . Notwithstanding I keep this engineering funadamental in mind, "the fe...

Agree with Al's advice. Typically happens when the car has been sitting around and especially in humid conditions like during the wet season. Another option is to jack the rear of the car up and place on stands. Fully engage the hand brake.Fire up engine in 1st gear or at least crank it around a few...

Scott, Just for the record I need to clarify my previous suggestion. When I said the fix was to stainless sleeve, I was referring to the hand brake section specifically within the caliper . I can see now you could have interpreted my comment as applying to the main piston and cylinder section which ...

Greg One of the key problems in the hand brake area of the caliper is corrosion. The reason why they leak is often due to this. In any rebuild you undertake, my advice is that you get the callipers resleaved with a stainless insert here. It's what I did on all of mine. Not cheap but no come backs ei...

Hey VinnyM, Mate, I am just a bush lawyer but it seems to me that you should pursue a few issues here for adequate compensation. If the situation was as you claimed it was, then here's some pointers:- 1 My understanding is that your lady friend was in the car with you at the time. She is your materi...

Re: For Sale / Wanted

Anyone have any interest in a For Sale/Wanted area on the forum? -Peter That is a good question - whether or not additional For Sale / Wanted Forums here would be preferable to the dedicated classifieds script linked off the main page... http://www.alfagtv6.com/classifieds/ What do you guys think? ...

JJ I know that you know and other guys at the sharp end also know but for the benefit of the not so mechanically minded I would just like to add this. Minor noise nuisance asociated with a transaxle and specifically from a differential in a race vehicle is hardly going to be an issue as it is just a...

Bazookajoe For my money, the 3 litre engine transforms the car into a much more sporty machine without essentially changing the essence of the vehicle. You can always hang onto to your original engine for future reference if you think you may want to return to original for what ever reason that may ...

Matts, I cannot directly answer your question as I have never tried those systems but others who have might like to comment on them. What I do know is that SKYPE is very efficient, gives no problems with firewalls even like ZoneAlarm which is known to give some of these systems a hard time. There is...
