New question - do you guys have a recommendation for an aftermarket adjustable fuel pressure regulator? It does not need to be rising rate or anything like that since I'm using GoTech. I have to get an aftermarket inline setup since my engine was shipped sans this piece :x I used the adjustable reg...

I ended getting the brake set up from APE - makes sense since Larry has done all this before - specifically with a GTV6. I ordered the Alfetta pedal box and a 164 Booster - apparently, the pedal box needs minor modification to allow the clutch MC to sit alongside the 164 booster, when using an Alfe...

Hi Guys!

Noone else had problems to transmit extra power over the std clutch? I can't imagine! :o

Is there anyone who has experience with sinter-metal or kevlar pads on standard plates and cover?

What kind of clutch to use?

Hi guys! I have the following question: What kind of clutch(system) shall I use on a more powerful setup? I hope soon I could reach around 300 HP (at flywheel) and 320 Nm of torque. And I use quite often my car as a dragracer, so I think I have to do something with my clutch. Until now I used the st...

Hi guys! Fortunatley I have some experience with that! :) Zamani has right, it possible to get a car with the uprated brake system which were introduced a few months after the release of the 147 GTA. Torque steer not an issue compared to other brands similarly powered units (e.g. Saab 9-3 Viggen) ev...

Re: 0-60 Time

My next question is what does everyone think this will do to the 0-60 time & 1/4 mile time. Say 1250 Kg; 270hp; 4.10 to 1 gears with LSD and other upgrades to my transaxle?? :?: I think your 0-60 should be around 5.7 the quarter mile in the 13.5-13.7 range. What kind of other upgrades do you me...

It's quite hard to find a lighter wheel than the original Campagnolo magnesium one! :) But it's true. 150 kg weigh down is a reality and it helps as much in acceleration as having an extra 30-40 hp under the bonnet in the 250 hp area. Since the weight to power ratio has the most influence on the acc...

BTW, if HP is not an option to get the car faster you need to use my method. Lighten the shits of everything. Instead of tuning 1300 kg from 200 to 250 hp lighten it to 900 kg. And then tune it to 250 hp.... You're right! 8) But I can hardly imagine that someone will be able to throw out 400 kgs of...

To come back to the original question! ;) I visit during the season almost all Hungarian Drag Racing event on the quater mile. Before I did I made a rough calculation about the possibilities. There is a program called 'CARTEST' which can be parametered quite well and it can simulate a drag race with...

Hi Chen!

We can set the revlimiter where we want (now at 7500 and since the rest of the engine has not been touched I don't want to raise above it). The original Motronic finish somewhere between 6700-7000, but the peak power happens at 6200.

LENZ!

MD wrote the followings in my topic about the GTA engine project:

"The air flow is a compromise but my dyno testing shows my engine develops its normal maximum power so the theory is just a theory."

I can beat any 147/156 GTA with my setup with almost same weight.

Anybody has idea what kind of cams could be used on the GTA-engine to get some extra HPs? And what is the cost of it? What I can do: - can add more fuel - can reprogram freely the ECU What I have to live with: - I won't want to rev over 7500 (so I think it would be great to have the peak somewhere a...

Fastcar, I was wondering why you chose to go all the way around with the hot coolant pipe from the right head's heating exit at the back of the engine?? Is there an advantage in that and what did you do with the front hot pipe from the w.pump? Sorry, I missed to answer this question so long. :( On ...

Merril, I think that the author was reffering to a new age Masser 3.2TT engine that comes in the Biturbo Coupe rather than the old gen 2.2 3 valves per cyl engine that came in the less sportive salon cars. I don't think so, because Jake wrote he heard about the V6 biturbos . The 3.2 liter one is a ...
