Rear Shocks removal

Does anybody have a simple technique of removing the rear standard shocks from the GTV6? The locking nut is proving difficult to remove because the nut above it is quite narrow, thus fitting a 19mm spanner doesn't leave much room for the 17mm spanner to grip the locking nut. I managed to get one loc...

Did you redrill new holes for the brake rotors? Pics say 4 stud but the gtv6 is 5 x 98?

Nice detail in the interior :)

Hey Zamani,

Read in the July Forza that your brother Nizam has a F355. That should be quite fun to drive?
I reckon they sound much nicer than the 360...... not as good as a 430 though

Nothing much has happened. Sent my Innovate Motorsport AFR meter back to be tested for faults - I couldn't get an accurate reading from it. Just have to get the GoTech Pro tuned or thinking about switching to another ECU later as I can't seem to get it OEM smooth. Cheers

I have a stock 2.5 GTV6 that blows smoke upon initial take off after idling. When cruising, there's no smoke on either acceleration or decelaration. Car seems to pull strongly throughout the rev range. Most of the plugs are nice and clean except plug in cyl 2 which was a bit sooty. Would this signif...

BTW, has anyone noticed a difference in shift linkages and bushes between a 1983 GTV6 and 1984 or later non isostatic shifter? I took a look under both and the 1983 model has slight differences where the torsion bars meet the chassis body. Also, the lower part of the shifter rod where it meets the l...

That kit is on Stephen's car in Perth, WA. HIs mechanic had designed it using a cad system and was using Stephen's car as a prototype. However, his mechanic's business took precedence and he never got to producing more of the kit and I'm not sure if he will anymore. Stephen's shift is excellent and ...

Z, It would be difficult to beat a WRX STi from a standing start. I have an original version V 2 door STi in stock form (which is lighter than the current STis), which produces 206kw and does a 0-100kmh in 4.9sec. Rolling start at above 100mph may be different but certainly at the lights, the alfa w...

Barry, Yeah, the mixtures are way too rich. Similiar to the tune when I got the motor from Dawie. I tried to put the previous plugs back on and it didn't take long before those got fouled up too. So you are right, it couldn't be the plugs. I haven't measured the fuel pressure but I think it runs the...

Hey Barry, Got some pics of the plugs BKR6EYA, all look the same, not wet but pretty sooty. Took them all out and replaced them with non resistor plugs BCP6ES-11 (Gap 1.1mm I think). Car runs like a pig !!! Very jerky esp around 1800 - 2500 rpm, 3rd and 4th gear and doesn't idle well. What could pos...

Hey Barry, Downloaded your map and took the car out for a blast. Car definitely runs smoother and is a joy to drive. Previously it used to jerk quite a bit around the 2000-2500 rpm on low load/ coasting in 3rd or 4th but it has become smoother now. Still some slight jerkiness but nowhere as bad. I w...

Barry,

I tried the map and motor didn't like it as much? I noticed the Trigger Tooth row was 14 on mine and 15 on yours.
Also, was your tune done in Johannesburg where it's about 6000 ft above sea level?

Maybe I'll post you my map and you can see if there's anything abnormal on it.

Cheers :)

Was at an Italian Car Day where this bikie looking dude had an F 430 (Apparently he paid cash for it) and I happened to stand right next to it when he revved it hard just before taking off. Man, that was awesome and the ground literally shook. Fantastic sound!!! Z, yes I agree the F355 sounds great ...
