Re: When should a gearbox have an oil cooler ?

Kevin, is it possible your gears are loose on the mainshaft? Local tuner Vin Sharp showed me a TS mainshaft where the gears all had a little bit of play(axial and angular), ultimately allowing the pinion to move in and out of mesh with the crownwheel. This play was despite the mainshaft nut still be...

Re: What size engine is this???

Yes AR01911xxxx is for a 75 2.5, but I think GTV6 and Alfa 90 2.5 are different prefixes

Re: No longer a ''budget" race GTV

For expansion rates, have a look at: http://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/linear-expansion-coefficients-d_95.html What about a rubber rubber gasket the lexan can skate around on? And some M4/5 button head screws with large washers on the lexan side, and nyloc nuts on the hatch side, so you can tighten ...

Did you figure out which part was causing your problem?

Yeah unless you pull the rack apart to take the seal out, in which case you only need the tube between the bellows

Re: Undecided Performance Direction

I guess it's horses for courses as to whether a manifold or some bracketry is easier to make. You're right, I do need to read Greg's book. The exchange rate has put me off buying it but I'll definitely get it before buying any bits. I had a feeling it could go either way M62 vs M90 for the 3L but Gr...

Re: Undecided Performance Direction

.... boosted performance is such a tempting arrangement 8) .......... But a nicely modified NA engine has an appeal all it's own, and then there's the music.... :D :D :D ...... and the winner is, a Supercharger!! :D For a 3L you would probably use an M90 off a Commodore anyway, and these can be had...

.......Or the obvious, Vin Sharp @ PACE

Keep in mind what you use the car for, eg a solid centre may grow tiring on a street car.

Re: Rear Motor Mount

Hi Fred. Yes it can be done in the car, it will be easier if you can rock the motor back(down at the back). Try twisting the centre tube out with a shifter on the end (shear the old rubber) and then use pieces of pipe/tube/sockets and a G-clamp to press the outer piece out. They're offset (the centr...

Hi Michael. Welcome to the forum! The idle speed is adjustable somewhat. On the right hand side of the plenum there is a brass screw-in fitting that has a double nut and a hose barb. In between the nuts is a fat o-ring that gets squashed to control the amount of air that bypasses the throttle butter...

If you get to look at a RHD Integrale I would almost bet the conversion was done/organised by (Sam I think it is) Tucci of Italian Job motors here in Melbourne. He's got several cars himself and is probably the Aus authority on them. I hope you find a good one. I was eyeing a cheap one a year or two...
