Re: Rebuilt V6 engine oil priming.

How about backing the (de)tensioner off and simply spinning the auxiliary drive?
Or do that before the belt goes on.
It was effective on a FIAT 2 litre I put rings, bearings and seals thru years ago, as it also drove the mechanical fuel pump to fill the carby's float chamber.

Re: 12v ITB's

If the 6 TB were smaller, like say 42mm, then they'd be a good starting point. But 48mm is way big.

Re: 12v ITB's

Let's come up with an ITB. We waited for headers since 2001. It came about 12 years later. If we start planning now, we could get it by 2026! Yessss!!! What is stopping someone from having these CNC machined from billet aluminium? Plenty of other stuff gets made that way and most of it is...

Re: 3.0 24V - your suggestions

You also wrote that I should not do any porting. Why is that? Would not that make it easier for the engine to breath / release gases? The 24 valve engines ports are larger than they need to be. Making them larger will do more damage to the engines low rpm torque capabilities and probably won't help...

Re: Building the supercharger to the engine (75 3.0V6)

Agreed Kevin. Taking the 10lb "doctor" to the tunnel side for more room solves issues if things are too tight. However with the bracing illustrated below, it should not be necessary. This one is fitted to my road GTV6 without any tunnel mods. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!! A braced clutch housing fo...

Re: GTV6 3.1 with ITB

Like I said Greg, to each their own.

You know what they say:
You can only please all of the people some of the time, or some of the people all of the time. But never all of the people all of the time.

Re: GTV6 3.1 with ITB

To each their own, but I think those guards look frigging awful!
And if they had used curved runners, then they could have fitted the bonnet without cutting a whole in it and fitting a scoop to the bonnet bulge. :?

The car seamed to have a decent amount of speed, but it was damn loud!

That twin turbs GTV6 is the toughest looking 1 I've ever seen! Any more photos, Kevin?
And your track GTV6 always looks awesome, too! They just suit white and wheels that properly fill the guards. :D

Re: Track Car Preperation

When I first got my 75, 1 of its original top control arm bushes had worked its way out of the arm. The Performatek polyurethane top bushes have 2 additional PU pieces that keep the main bush pieces in place. But when you start to use decent caster angle, the bushes get very distorted. How long they...

Re: It's Not a TA Alfa, But It Has Some Damn Impressive Spee

Meaningless comparisons, with unknown driver skills/track knowledge... Come on, I don't care how good the Alfa is, a GT3 is untouchable in there, plus, it has another 40 years of evolution behind it... Yes the GT3 RS is a DAMN impressive car and I would love to own 1, but the speed that the Alfa di...

It's Not a TA Alfa, But It Has Some Damn Impressive Speed!

A Youtube link shared by 1 of the lads on AlfaclubVic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=tI-WKde8Jgo Hugely impressive speed! 216hp is 1 thing from a normally aspirated Alfa 2 litre and I'm sure it's safe to say that most of the Alfaholics catalog has been thrown at the car'...

Re: 4-cylinder turbo performance

Good question Maurizio, one in Greg's field of expertise. 1.8T's are good, but I hate all the heat we have to deal with. No matter how you insulate things, its still very hot under the hood! If you happen to live in ridiculous hot summer weather, it becomes even worse. An SC kit with comparable out...
